It's hard to tell, but it doesn't appear to have affected your ground clearence much. Thanks for posting the photos. I'm looking forward to the continuing saga.

Cliff,
I just took a quick look at the tractor. The lower support braces that route below the axle tube extend about 1 inch or so lower than the bottom of the transmission case (which was the lowest point in the rear anyway). Photo 6 shows the best view of this (look at the lower brace on the far side of the photo). I wouldn't think that little bit of lost ground clearance would cause any problems.

PDe,

Funny, I was just thinking of posting and asking how your install was coming along. So far everything looks great. Where will the hoe get its hydraulic power from? Does it have its own PTO driven pump, or is it off of the 2210's? I had heard both mentioned. Am looking forward to more updates/pics. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Now I'm going to be planting a lot of trees shortly, wish I had a backhoe. too many of these - $$$- that I don't have. Two issues that would concern me about the weight of the hoe on the 2210; one- the aluminum transaxle housing and how much can it take? two: my front end gets awfully light when I use my roto tiller, would the hoe require some weights on the front?

JDFANATIC,
Hydraulic power is supplied by the 2210. Two lines tap into fittings on top of the rockshaft control valve. All the hose fittings, brackets and the hoses came with the hoe. I just bought a gallon of low-vis hydraulic fluid to make-up for the oil required by the hoe.

megotatractor,
From the heft, structure and mounting of the subframe, it appears the digging forces will be dispersed through both the transaxle and the frame of the tractor. With the forward subframe mounts bolted to where the loader supports attach to the tractor frame, the hoe's digging forces would pull on these mounts as well as the subframe mounts attached to the transaxle and axle tubes. It's hard to say how much force the transaxle can handle and remain intact.

Per the instructions, the hoe is designed to be mounted and operated on a tractor with a front-end loader. It appears the weight of the loader would act to counter balance some if not most of the weight of the hoe. In case more weight is needed, I'll toss-in a suitcase weight or two into the FEL bucket, especially if the front end gets light when driving the tractor from the garage to the dig site.
