ATI Tach-All adapter for LA402 -- Pricing?

Many of the lighter weight grapples that are available can be ordered as a pin-on version specific to the LA402. They would otherwise pin on to the FEL arms like the bucket would. But if you go with the pin-type QA, you have a fairly easy way of swapping between the standard bucket and the grapple.

Do a search for RonJHall's pics in the photo gallery. He has the LA402 on his B2910, and has the Kubota pin-type QA. Two hooks on the top, and you pull the pins on the bottom two holes.

Take a look at the hydro fittings on your buddy's skid steer, and you'll see that they're different than the B7800 fittings.

I was told their wasn't a grapple bucket available for the LA402 unless you went w/ a skid steer QA... now I'm not sure if thats true or not. Do I have other options besides skid q/A to get a grapple bucket? I didn't think the Kubota Q/A was any help because I don't need the forks or snowblower, which I was told were my only options.

I believe Millonzi and others will custom make a pin on type grapple mount if you provide the measurements to them. There are also grapples that mount directly to the bucket by either bolts or welding. The benefit of a skid steer type mount though from my point of view is if you ever upgrade you can still use the same attachments. If you go to a loader specific pin type mount you would have to sell the attachments with the tractor or try and find someone with a similar setup to sell them to. The skid steer type mount attachments also have a better resale as more customer's can use them. That is the primary reason I went with a skid steer mount on my B3030. I switch between my bucket, grapple and pallet forks quite often. If I ever upgrade ( l love the new Grand L's) I can take my grapple and forks with me.

Well I just got back from the dealer w/ the itemized invoice for ATI Q/A. The pricing on the ATI Q/A system itself was inline w/ other posts I've seen, around $700. However, they wanted almost $500 for the welding labor and $200 for the blank to add the ATI plates to my factory kubota bucket. They broke it out as 6 hours of welding labor at $75/hr plus tax. That seems like alot of labor $$ for 1 bucket. I wonder how much of that the welder actually sees!

I went ahead and ordered the Q/A but I told them not to order the blanks nor adapt my old bucket. I think I am going to try and sell my old bucket on ebay and/or locally and then just got buy an ATI bucket, or similar, w/ the skid steer q/a already attached. That grapple bucket for $1000 somebody suggested would be perfect and would not cost me anymore once you consider the $700 savings plus about $400 value for my old bucket.

Like i had mentioned earlier, a dealer here quoted a little over six hundred for a HD bucket with bolt-on cutting edge. I think you made the right choice. Either check with a couple welding shops on converting yours, or sell it and buy a QA bucket.

Good news is that I found a bucket locally for $400, going to pick it up on Sunday. Also, ATI Tach-All come in today and I had a chance to install it, really simply install, took all of 45 minutes. Just need to buy a grease gun to grease up the pins. Pics of the Tach-All are below.

I have my original bucket B1617 60" bucket for sale if anybody is interested, PM me. See the following link for more details; Kubota 60" B1617 Bucket for LA401 and LA402 loaders

Although reluctantly, my local Kubota dealer did order the ATI system for me. Here is the breakdown;

ATI QA-KU1 Tach-All $650
ATI pin kit for B7800 $75
Freight $20
====
$745

My dealer had already ordered the blank plate to retrofit my bucket before I canceled, so he stuck me with the cost of the plate claiming it could not be returned.

AP-250-U Attach Plate $195
Freight $20
====
$215

My total out of pocket was $960 and I was allowed to include this cost in my tractor financing at 0%/42mo.

I'm debating what to do with the blank plate, $195 was a rip-off for this plate as I've seen it on ebay for $85. I may have it welded onto a 1000# set of TSC 3pt pallet forks and retrofit them to work w/ the front loader.

Hang onto that extra QA plate........ you'll find a use for it ! You will eventually want a second bucket with teeth, forks, larger snow bucket, etc,etc.!! I can think of about twenty things i'd like to be able to attach to my loader.About 2 beans with shipping is about average on those around here, so i don't feel they way-overcharged you.
