Backhoe Attaching a Backhoe to the 3-Point Hitch

A lot of uneducated customers think that they are going to buy a small backhoe, and plan on just plucking out tree stumps in one swipe. I have experience with many that don't think I know what I am talking about when I tell them they are expecting way to much out of the backhoe.

Iv sold plenty of BKs... not one has failed and the customers are all happy.

actually replaced seal kit on ones outriggers... but it had help failing

ive got 1700 ft of water line to dig. root bound septic line to replace, and a footer for a cabin. just for starters. im gonna be logging with it. in fact im building a log arch as we speak. so i dont want no sissy backhoe. what could i exspect from a 35 to 40 hp would that give me enough grunt?

you wont get it if you want HST

go with the 4540 or 5545 for the most umf for your money

its not because of the HST its because of the size tractors offered in HST. biggest one would be a 3550 or 2555.. both are actually smaller than the 5545 as far as the tractor... the backhoe on the 2555 is the same specs though just a good bit stouter rear end on the 5545

your right i dont want a HST. im a old school gear to gear guy, i dont like auto tranny's in my pickup either. i just overhauled the 4speed tranny in my 59 chev. at the same time i took out the piece of crap 700r tranny out of my 89 z71 and built the heck out of a th350, and added a towing shift kit. to get the dependability of a standard tranny.
