I have a Mitsubishi 2201 (24 h.p.) and am interested in attaching it to an 8 to 10KW generator head. How can I attach a regular pully-type generator head to a pto shaft? If I could find or fabricate a coupling to go from the pto shaft to the gen head, would I have to have gears to meet the proper rpm? Would I have to set-up some type of belt system on these type generator heads?
I am looking at a 3,600 rpm and an 1,800 rpm generator heads. My tractor has a four-speed pto. I assume the first pto gear is 540, but don't know at what speed the other three pto gears turn the pto. I wonder if I could slow down my tractor rpm and increase the pto speed and still have enough power to turn a 10KW geneartor head?
