attachment carrier

I have read about and seen various units to store tractor attachments in garages, most of these are made to fit the attachment and makes it mobile to move it around, I use a pallet jack and used pallets to store all my attachments on. I use various thicknesses of wood blocks to make the installing and removing of the attachment as easy as possible, when the pallet jack is not busy moving my attachments around the garage I can use it to lift the tractor for cleaning and greasing. The jack is rated at 5500 pounds and I bought it for $425.00 canadian dollars at the local CAT forklift dealer in Halifax. Hope this info helps somebody.

Good idea.
In the states you can buy used (slightly damaged) skids for a few bucks apiece. Add in a pallet jack for ~$150 US and you have a very low cost and efficient storage system.
Only bad part is it requires a concrete floor since pallet jacks are of little value on rough ground.

I also use pallets for attatchment storage. I use a carryall on my 3ph as a forklift to move the pallets - takes a little patience, but it works great since I have gravel floors.

Its thursday so its time to take out the trash. The stable trash can only gets taken out every few months, but since I had the carryall out figure it was time.

The carryall is a wallace unit. The ones TSC sold before going back to king kutter. Sold for about $90. Toss a pallet on top and haul about anything.

Brian – That’s a good idea using a pallet mover to move the various implements around. Which method is the most economical would depend on how many implements you have, since the caster wheel approach requires buying 4 caster wheels and the bolts to mount them for each implement. If you figure roughly $10 per wheel (TSC has 3” steel caster wheels for $8, so that plus bolts, nuts, and washers rounds up to about $10), that’s $40 per implement. A guy could probably get by for less on some implements by using the 2” wheels for $5 each and/or only using 3 casters. Northern Tools has pallet movers for $270 plus shipping, but a guy could probably find one for about $275 locally. So, if you have more than 7 implements requiring pallets, the pallet mover approach is cheaper and you can use the pallet mover for other things.

Fred – Where did you find a pallet mover for $150? Was it a new or used one? As near as I can tell a new one will run about $275 (US).
