This story has a happy beginning, middle, and end. If you're expecting a downside, there is none!

Last Sunday night, I surfed over to Carver's site to look at sprayers. I noticed his ad for th Land Pride implement blowout and took a look. Two items immediately grabbed my attention; the 60" landscape rake (there were five in stock) and the 72 inch blade (there was one in stock.) They were selling for something in the neighborhood of 1/2 off because they were sun-faded. I usually don't have much luck making a score on such sales, I'm almost always the guy who calls one second after the last one sold. Not so this time, my friends! Not so! I wrote a note to Steve Carver that evening, and at 5:20 a.m. on Monday morning, I received an email telling me that both items were still available and advising me to get ahold of Al Murray when the store opened. I did this, secured the sale, and closed he deal. That was the happy beginning.

Next up is the happy middle. Al said that I might see the implements "Maybe Friday - likely the beginning of next week." Good strategy - give a reasonable expectation and reasonable performance satisfies that expectation. Well, the call came from R&L carriers yesterday (two days after the sale - geez, FedEx couldn’t have done better!) and the implements were delivered, safe and sound, this morning. They are as advertised - brand new, faded paint. Delivered in perfect shape. They are ruggedly built, and offer the option of angling left or right or reversing. Perfect!

Next is the happy ending. I was going to just take delivery and scoot back to work, but I just could *not* resist trying out the rake. Clearing Valhalla left a lot of pieces of branches and roots that the MMM only ocassionally hits, but they are *everywhere!* I would have paid more to have them raked up by hand or by a contractor than I paid for the rake. Man, that rake is an amazing tool! One pass and nary a bit of rubble, stick or stone, left. After making several passes North to South and cleaning up a 50X50 area, there was a long "windrow" of rubble that in one East-West pass was pulled into one big neat pile for the FEL. It does an absolutely beautiful job!

In my life, drizzle or sun showers are rare. When it rains, it usually pours. This episode, however, has been "bright and sunny" from start to finish. WooHoooo!
