Beautiful day today and had some time to do a little welding. I welded a hook on my auger boom and attached a pair of skidding tongs to it. Backed over to a stump. lowered the tongs and they opened nicely. Raised the 3 PT and up it came without leaving the seat. I have a lot of pine trunks I'll be skidding out if the ground ever drys out. I know the safety police will have a comment but I'll keep it Low and Slow and it should be the cats meow........

That's one of those "slap yourself in the forehead moments," why didn't I think of that. Slick idea.

That's not a skidder, it's a boom. Good Idea, but when skidding a log just lift the front a little to keep it low and make big round corners or you might bend the boom.
