Auto Function On PTO ??

Well Kioti doesn't seem to go overboard with the safety interlock stuff. You can even stand up out of the seat and press the hydro pedal to see the tips of your forks going into a pallet Can't do that with a Kubota. yeah the rear three point is dangerous, but only if you are careless.

True enough. I suppose I would rather have the option to use those features and trust myself not to use them improperly, than not have them because the designer does not trust me.

It's funny, but I had the same thought about running the transmission with my hands when I was hooking my backhoe up this weekend. Thought against it, but can't guarantee that I won't next time.

I do worse than that. I can stand next to the tractor and operate the HST with my hand while lining up an implement. Very useful for hooking up the backhoe.

Try moving the tractor back and forth with the FEL instead of the HST I think that would be safer when hooking up.

Why do you turn the PTO off when turning while tilling? I leave it running and just raise the tiller at the end of a row with 3pt controls then drop it again after turning.

Steep angle of drive line causes the drive line u joints to wear out.

I actually dont use the auto feature much either. I do use it with the rototiller cause i forget to shut it off when i lift the tiller at the end of the row. So here the feature is nice, but then i have to idle back down to re-engage so i dont see much use. Too bad they didnt engineer some sort of automatic slow engagement feature. now that i would use.

but as to the original post, no i have never had any issues with the switch working as its supposed to . it does shut down when i lift and restart when lowered.

I can see that would be a problem with continuous use but for the five or ten seconds it takes to line up for the next tilling pass it shouldn't be a problem.

The key is to watch where you foot is.. Don't run the tire over it:laughing: with the tractor at idle, and in low range, when you push on the hydro pedal, it just crawls.. an inch worm goes faster. Keep you bucket flat on the ground, and don't do this unless you are on flat ground.

Hey, I still have a few toes left. We don't swing from trees anymore so losing a few is no biggy.

Seriously, it is hard to line up something fussy a Woods BH without being able so control tractor placement within quarter inch or so. I think it is also dangerous to be leaning out backwards over the top of the operator station while "seated" with your foot on the HST pedal too. And, as Koua has noted, a motivated snail could out run the tractor in low reverse with just a bit of pressure on the pedal with fingers. Much less likely to slip than with the "leaning out backwards" position.
