Automatic gate opener

That's identical to the setup I have except it's a driveway and not a bridge. A couple questions
1. You have a latch between the two gates, is that the Ghost latch? If so does it keep the gates from being pushed open enough that a dog could sneak through the opening?
2. What size battery do you have and about how many hours of sun do you get a day? How many times a day is the gate operated? My location only gets a few hours of sun in the winter and I'm not sure I can keep the battery charged.
3. How far away will the remote operate the gate? Our house is about 200' from the gate and I'd like to be able to open it from the house if possible. If that won't work I'll have to either put in a keypad or a button so people can let themselves out. I can't use the driveway vehicle sensor because the tractors and mower will trigger it.

I didn't use the latch, that's the 'butt plate' that comes with the kit. That said, even without the latch there's not that much play between the gates, maybe 4" at the most if you push each gate opposite directions. I did look at them when I bought my setup and they looked they would work pretty good but some of the reviews said they were pretty easy to open so they didn't really make the gate that much more secure.

I used a group 31 battery and a 10 watt solar panel, I ordered the 30 watt panel because where the gate is only gets sun for 4-6 hours a day but it's still sitting in my shop. The 10 watt panel keeps the battery charged just fine. The gate opens probably 4-6 times a day.

The remote range is only like 50 ft and the gate is a mile from my house so I used keypads. They're super easy to install, take a 'C' battery if I remember. They have a couple different modes which is cool, you can put in temporary codes and there's a way to make it open with any key press if you don't want to give someone a code but you want the gate to be closed.
