Re: Auto\'s
Vin, there are so many different makes and models on our roads that I have no idea what the "average" would be, and of course some of the "American" brands may actually be built in Canada or Mexico, while some of the "Japanese" brands may be built in this country. And of course things change with the times. I've traded vehicles more frequently than a lot of people (and should not have), and of course I'm a little older than a lot of our forum members, so the best I can remember right now, I've owned one German, one British, and three Japanese made vehicles, and one Studebaker. I've also had 10 GM products, 9 Ford products, and 7 Chrysler products.
In 1966, I bought a new Ford sedan and got what I suspect was probably the worst lemon ever built by the Ford Motor Company. I kept it 2 years and 24k miles, much of that time in the shop at the dealer, and as a result, you could not have given me a Ford product for the next 25 years. However, for the past 14 years, I've owned nothing but Fords (currently a mini-van). Both my daughters drive Ford Taurus and my son-in-law drives a half ton Ford pickup.
