AW 32 or 303 Hydraulic Fluid

Are you thinking of going cheap at Walmart? They even admit it's not that good.

303 is a John Deere specific fluid probably a UTF meant for combined hydraulic/ tranny system like the DF's. I think the only Chineese maker with this setup. So no not like AW-32. Someone can explain the specific differences.

That is the specified fluid for the Rhino 504,554 also but i changed it out due to noisy hydraulic pump operation in the winter .
Been using the Oreilys Universal tractor fluid since and the entire tractor runs quieter.
If I'm not mistaken the 303 is more of a warm weather only fluid?? It is also about $10-12 cheaper per 5 gallons than the universal fluid.

I just found this thread via a Google search while looking for a better fluid for my log splitter. Speaking from personal experience, 303 fluid works fine in the summer, but is not a good choice for cool temps. I could barely crank my log splitter over due to the viscosity drag when the temp was 25F. I doubt it would start at all if it got much colder than that. I'm sure the same viscosity drag issue would apply in any tractor application too. I'm going to find some AW32 and see how that works.
