I had a 700 lb. safe delivered today. I met the driver at the end of the paved road to guide him to my place, as some streets aren't named and some that are do not have signs. Upon meeting him, he said he doesn't do dirt roads. He said most companies won't drive them as they cause too much damage to the trucks. I could have sent it back but figured I'd go for it, so we loaded it in the little bed of my Tacoma double cab. It was only 7.5 miles, but it took me 75 minutes to do it. I was so nervous that the small straps I had would snap and it would tumble out of my truck, especially going up the hills.

Mr.Fuller are you going to put the 700 lb. safe in your r.v. camper or the storage shed maybe just put it on the house pad and build house around it. ?
Building Permit about issued. or some one found a typing error.

Looking forward to the first logs placed on the foundation.

Going to the County tomorrow to try and get my permit. It's been 14 months. I so hope it goes through this time.

Well, I'm closer, but no cigar yet. The Chief Building Officer and the plan checker met with me and we had a good discussion for a half hour. They said everything looked okay, but they wanted to review the engineer's calculations. Good grief, I thought that's why you paid the engineer. I did forget the spec sheet for the propane wall furnace, but they said I could just email that in. I also have to put a heat source in the bedroom since I have no ducting. I can email that in also. So while I still have no permit in hand, I'm pretty optimistic.
It is so frustrating to go through all this, especially when 150 miles away, in another county, a friend is building the same structure and his permit process took one day, two pages of plans, and $250. Mine is taking 15 months, 13 pages of plans, about 100 pages of backup material and will probably end up costing $15,000, counting the engineer, the soils testing, yada, yada, yada.
But my government is taking care of me. Yeah, right.

You need to hire an attorney today. There is no reason they should be jerking you around for this length of time. File a lawsuit and you will get the permit.
