I was wondering as well, but figured maybe you didn't want it out there in case the inspector found your blog.

Correct. Until I had the certificate in hand, mum was the word.

I started spreading chat (crushed limestone) all around the house to eliminate the mud problem. Sunday I spread about 30 ton.

Bo. I think the house looks great. Cutting those log tails really put the house into proper proportion. Nice job!!

Thanks. I had been meaning to get to them but they weren't required for final inspection, so they got put off.

Friday I finished up my downspouts. Just in time, as we are suppose to be getting drenched this evening.

Wow, what a nice place and you did a great job ! A job like that gives one a great feeling of accomplishment. You should be very proud of yourself for a job well done.

I really appreciate the thread you made on this , so cool to see how you went about this job.

It turned out beautiful! Now it's time to kick back in there and enjoy your creation.

Sorry about your mom and your dog Bo , I'm sure your mom's looking down on you with pride and a smile.

Thanks.

Bo, your house is beautiful. I have enjoyed reading about "your journey" from the beginning. How much more time till you move in? Thanks, Troy

I need to caulk the whole place, and then sand (wire brush) all the interior logs, THEN I'll be ready to move in. Probably a month or two.

Mr. Fuller The project took longer than expectations but looks good.
Did you get any rain the past month you mentioned hauling stone to slow mud from getting deeper.

What next for keeping busy?

Yes Ken, we got some rain, so I'm very happy I got the gravel spread and the gutters up.

First project is sanding all the interior logs, then putting a coat of varathane on all interior logs and the tongue & groove ceiling.

Next would be doing the same to the floors.

I was away for a month, but I'm back for a week. I have an endless list of jobs, but the first priority will be those that can make use of the telehandler. I sold it and the guy is coming Wednesday, so I need to make good use of it.
I need to paint the East gable; put up some bird spike strips; sand some black off one rafter and then varathane it; and then I want to move one of my 40 ft containers.
After that I need to sand/wire brush all the logs on the inside upstairs, then varathane them; sand the floors and varathane them; caulk a zillion cracks; put handles on all the cabinets; build the pantry shelves; and I have another 70 ton of crushed limestone being delivered.
BUSY WEEK!!!!
