****. I think that plane might have just been here in Mass at the Beverly airport earlier this month. They come every year for about a week or less. Love seeing them flying around. So cool.

Horrible tragedy. Prayers for all the families affected.

==================

Just saw this on the NBC News tonight - CT Senator Richard Blumenthal is calling for immediate grounding of all WW-II planes. Sheesh!

Very good friend of mine was a Flight Engineer on a B17 crew. Survived the required number of flights and got to come home.

My Dad was a truck driver stationed in England supporting 8th Army Air Corp.

If interested in WWII air craft "Memphis Belle" is an excellent movie.

Sorry to hear of the loss.

Nobody can even give an accurate report of what happened, never mind what caused it. Never let a tragedy go to waste politically.

Officials confirm 7 dead in crash of World War II B-17 bomber at Bradley International Airport; 6 aboard aircraft survived - masslive.com

Another let's politicize this thread.

7 dead and other casualties. That's the bottom line.

I've been following this since ~ 10:30AM on every local TV network. It was a long "~5 minutes" for that doomed plane, crew, and passengers. Very brief cockpit conversations were included as well as flightpath in the TV audio/visual recordings. The flightcrew never had a chance for a MayDay call..... They were kind of busy......... RIP

So what happened? I didn't think the pictures looked like the plane plowed at speed into the ground and six survivors on board would suggest likewise.

Very annoying. Todays media only seems good at spewing endless misinformation (fake news) or interviewing the kindergarden teacher of the co-pilot. But facts? Forget about it.

There must be more video and information available.

INTERVIEW: WWII plane expert gives insight on B-17 following crash - YouTube

SO, it crashed into this fuel storage area? A lot of talk and not much information. The pictures almost suggest a fueling incident, as there isn't evidence of a horrific crash.

I don't think that was a fuel storage area.
A deicing fluid storage area I think.
