We are moving into spring like weather here which prompts us to move snow away from our 130yo house foundation made from mine rock and leaks like a screen door. I've been running the boss right over the top of snow to get to the material that needs to be pushed back. Gee, I didn't think it would have had so much utility. It having a low PSI, small enough to fit through the narrow spots, yet enough traction to push it.. Go figure!

I took the blade off late today with the marginal snow we have in our forecast... Seems the 4 little push tabs have indeed cracked the 10 gauge plate they push against. Nothing but the best from Moose! So I'll be in the schools weld shop* on Wednesday for repairs and I'll report back on what I find and do.

*I don't have a shop of my own

I was in the school shop yesterday and got the plow updated. 1st photo shows its side profile and how moose had built it. (wear plate off it) These plates are 12 gauge or maybe lighter, never did measure them. In the 2nd one, this kind'a shows how the mounting tabs were being pushed forward and the materials getting bent, welds cracking. These are older and rusted. I'm no photographer! 3rd ones shows where extra welds are added and in the 4th, the 10 gauge plates being added to its base, underside. The plates were gaped at the center, when welded down. In the other you see tabs adding to the full height plow push plates so they will be connected to the base plate. The last one is in the paint booth and about to get painted. You can see the inner most tabs are made much taller. What do you think?

Our schools have been shut down do to this virus thing. There metal shop is where I get anything important done... Nonetheless, we got a little snow overnight so I was out pushing it this am. With the base getting rather hard, the trip springs are getting serious exercise. I might need to stiffen them up more. The higher lift capability with the push frame getting more bend (see earlier posts) added to it, this has made the plow much more easy to use. Sorry no photos taken, with the spousal unit at her job.
