B Boss 6x6 plow setup

Still out of the snow grooming business here, I was in the yard pushing snow and dearest took a few photos. The 1st one is me angling the snow to the left side. But whats that strange thing in the bottom of the 4th photo??? Trouble! You sure can tell its warm here today......

Green safety strobe and pole was added but the lights are not yet wired. What do you think?

Bonus question... In the 1st photo, you can see three flats were welded to the bracket that's bolted to the box and the light pole is attached in them. Why would someone need to add three flats like this?

Is the answer to the Bonus Question- to raise and lower the mast ( pivot )

Have you thought about adding a strip of rubber belting on the top of the blade?

This will help keep the snow from rolling over the top of the blade. Also have you tried using Fluid Film on your blade? I have found this helps greatly with snow sticking to the blade.

Well you are close,,,, but not quite. Its a break-away for whatever hits it. This might be the 6th one I've built and found that operators will duct to get under branches but never look back to see whats behind them. The third tab the pivot bolt passes through is to give it enough friction to keep it upright. I've tried the 2 tab system which drove me nuts trying to get it to stay upright.....

The plow came with a top flap but I took it off during its construction. Haven't really missed it so so far...

I have some of that no stick snow spray and use it if its warm out. Thanks!

I've got to use the blade and 6x6 with pods quite a few times now and really are liking this setup. The blade and its 4 spring setup still flips for stressful hits, in fact I tightened it up a bit No, its not perfect and I'll do some changes next time I get in the school shop to the lift pulley. I've also not completed the wiring for the lights on the pole business. We've really not seen much snow here over the past few weeks....

I'm still "perfecting" parts and need to get in to the school shop sometime. Nonetheless, we are not getting all that much snow here, so I'm not pressed to do so. Seems we are around 230 or so.
