As a follow up to " Block heater location", which was started about a month ago here at TBN, I'd
like to submit these pictures which should leave no further doubt about a typical B series installation.

First pix ..shows the parts laid out before assembly. (Heater kit #73274) as ordered from Tractorsmart. ........ ( $30.15 plus $5 S&H ) ...RayBee

Second Pix ..... Shows the Kubota threaded plug removed (hex 17 mm). A warmed engine
beforehand, will make it's removal easier. (Don't forget to drain coolant from engine block beforehand)

Fifth Pix .... Finally the electric cord plugs into heater and is secured by a captive nut to insure that it won't loosen from engine vibration. My install was on a B2710, and I chose this cord position, but you may rotate/tighten the heater more or less to adjust where the cord fits your needs. (Don't forget to replace your coolant, before starting tractor.)

RayBee,
Thanks for the Pictures. How difficult was it to get the 17mmm plug out?

Anyone have a picture of a BX2200 they want to share with us? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

NY-Yankees-Fan:
I tried removing the 17mm plug with a 1/2 in. drive breaker bar, and a cold engine, it would'nt budge. I warmed the engine to operating temp.
and used the same tools but added a short 24-28 in. cheater pipe and
it moved easily with steady pressure applied. Be sure you get a 1/2in
drive socket. (3/8in will break) /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif ...RayBee

Raybee,

Good follow up to the original thread! Thanks for the post. Now I can see what my dealer did to get that done. If your weather has been anything like ours lately, you'll appreciate the addition really soon!!! I've used the heater a lot!!!

Thanks,
Kevin

RayBee,

Thanks for the post. I've got a B2910 without a block heater. When the snow starts falling, I have 2 magnetic mount heaters, I put one under the oil pan and another back under the hydro unit. So far, it seems to work well, but getting down on my knees to put the heaters on is a bit of a pain. (Boy, does that sound like "whining" or what? /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif) Anyway, I'm sure the block mounted heater is much better than the magnetic mount.

I'll be changing the coolant this summer and I think I'll put the engine block heater in. I'm encouraged by your pics.

Thanks,

Rick
