Specifically a B7610. The B7610 has 24 HP, 4WD, HST, and the 3PH is rated at 1350 lbs..............The trailer is an airstream with 400 lb tongue weight and an overall weight of 5500 lbs. It has tandem axles and is 29 feet long. I want to be able to get this trailer into a tighter storage place than I am able to with my F250. The problem is that I will need to navigate on gravel and part of this, maybe 50' is on a slight incline. I wonder if the tractor has the brakes, traction, and power to do this...........???????????

Thanks a bunch..........God bless........Dennis

Here's what the factory recommends for my B3030 with a 30hp 4-banger:

It depends on how "slight" the incline and, considering gravel, on the tires. Turfs will be best. 10 psi tire pressure. Increase tongue wt if you can and add weight to the tractor any way you can.

I move a smaller trailer with my B7100, but I made a push button switch adapter for the electric brakes so I can operate the trailer brakes from the seat of the tractor.

Probably doable. We pull haywagons with a B7500 and they have 100-150 45-50# haybales onboard.
I would rig a way to use the trailer brakes (long rope on the breakway?) in case things go wrong.

Perhaps 6' to 8' of rise in the 50' mentioned above. I need to add that I am not connecting to the drawbar of the tractor; but am using one of those bars with a bunch of holes in it that attaches to the 3ph. The trailer ball will go in the middle hole and am gonna use a 3ph top link turnbuckle in another hole and run it back to the drawbar of the tractor to keep it from revolving as I pull the trailer. Thanks for the thoughts guys......Any actually doing something like this would be totally welcome and needed.....MORE please.........God bless.........Dennis

6 to 8' in 50' is steep on a gravel surface considering the weight mismatch. I would be quite apprehensive. I would not want the tractor on the downhill end.

I've routinely moved my 18' tandem axle Hudson around with maybe 3,000 lbs total with NO problem on near level (1' rise, 20' run) concrete and asphalt. But a 16% slope on gravel is quite a bit more.

Someone else posted about moving a load like yours years ago w/ a B7610. It's probably doable. Go slow and easy.

400 lbs on the 3pt should not be a problem.

You could set up an elec. brake controller for the tractor and use it to help control the trailer descending the slope and I doubt you will have any problem pulling it in low gear so long as the gravel is solid.

Consider putting a receiver hitch on the front of your truck for precise trailer handling (they sell front receivers for most every truck type vehicle). If you haven't used a front hitch yet, you're in for a pleasant surprise is terms of easy and precise trailer maneuvering. Easy to get the hang of, just slightly counter-steer to get the trailer to turn the other way, then follow or turn again as required.

Note that some (including me) have installed a hitch on the tractor front loader. It's quick and handy for moving lighter trailers. However, there's no way it would be safe trying to maneuver a heavy trailer, especially going up or down hill - - it'll shove the tractor back sideways, jack knife, bend the loader and maybe you along with it.

I have the B7610 also. Mine can easily move the equipment trailer around, but when I go down my driveway to stow it, I put it in low, and 4wd. I have a lot more control then, but the moving speed is slow. That is ok with me as I don't need to be pulling the trailer out of the ditch.

B7610, seems simliar to my b2620 in terms of power and weight. We pull hay wagons (about 6,000lbs total) around our property no problem... Just gotta be smart about it.. I keep it in Low, 2400rpm and 4WD (spin in the sand with 2WD) starting and stopping are not an issue, i was surprised but the HST can stop the tractor and wagon with no problem. but you can tell the tractor is a bit light (only 1500lbs or so) so i just kept it slow and avoided any terrain that would make the wagon want to roll.

I know it's a little different since there's no weight on the tractor cause the hay wagons are different... but power and braking i dont think will be an issue for you

(kubota manual says only tow 1.5x tractor weight, but i like to live dangerously)

Thanks for the thoughts fellas.............I had to take my trailer hitch ball, 2 5/16", to a machine shop to turn down the shank to 3/4". That is the size of the holes in the draw bar that I am gonna use in the 3ph. A 3/4" shank is NOT available due I guess to safety issues. As this outfit will NEVER be used on the highway it should not be a problem.

I am wondering about you guys that are doing this type of thing....ie: prevent, are you hooking up the trailer to the drawbar of the tractor or using something like I am using in the 3ph?????..................For me, I want to be able to make sharp turns that the tires of the tractor will not allow due to the trailer tongue. Pulling from the 3ph puts the load back there where I can make those turns. Yes, not to sharp as binding/jack knifing will happen...........

If you do use the 3ph..........how do you keep the drawbar from revolving???????........I am using a top link for the 3ph from one of the holes in the 3ph draw bar and connecting it to the drawbar of the tractor.........Yes, the pivots of the top link will move a bit; but I am hoping that this will allow some flexibility in the height of the 3ph............thoughts???????.........thanks again Guys..........God bless......Dennis

Since you have already modified the ball you probably want to stick with the lift arm drawbar. You can prevent it from rotating by "keying" it to one of the lift arms. There are devices sold to do this, but you could do it yourself by bolting metal plates to top and bottom of the bar thru its outermost hole. The plates would extend out over and capture the lift arm. Dont go light on the bolt used ... or the plates.

Towing, I consider one of the advantages of the 3 point hitch the ability to pick up and lift the trailer tongue without using the jack. One of these does the deed:

3 Point 2" Receiver Trailer Hitch Category 1 Tractor Tow Hitch Drawbar Adapter | eBay

One of those was about the first thing I bought. Works well on both tractors. I also bought a clamp-on-trailer-bucket-hitch which works for both tractors :)

WOWOWOW.........That is one neat piece of equipment......Gonna see how what I am doing works and if it fails will for sure get this gizmo.......I need to get the trailer moved like NOW but surely NOT gonna tear up my 88 Airstream just by going cheap......Either way, this device is going to be in my budget next month to have on hand.........THANKS......God bless........Dennis

Yep the 3 point Bumperm mentioned is the way to go. I use mine ALL the time moving everything from small tractor dump trailers up to large eqpt trailers. It is one of my most used attachments and worth the money!

1350lb tractor for 5500lb trailer, 8' rise on 50' (that close to a 10 degree slope). Yessch. Give it a try but maybe have a plan B?
Like trailer brakes or somebody quick with a block to throw in front of a tire?
