B2630/B3030 total pump output

I'd like to know why the total pump output of a B2630 is different (higher) than a B3030?

B2630: 9.8 gpm
B3030: 9.1 gpm

I don't understand, even a B2710 has more output (9.5 gpm). I asked my dealer, but he didn't know and he didn't seem to have the will to search and get an answer.

I don't think it's a dumb question since I searched everywhere and didn't find the reason. I tried to look the part numbers of the pump on Tractorsmart but I only got the number for the B3030, B2910, B2410. I tried but I cannot have access to part numbers for B2630, B3030hsd (cab version) and B2710.

B2630 has 5.6 gpm main pump + 4.2 gpm steering pump
B3030 has 5.2 gpm main pump + 3.9 gpm steering pump

JerryG, thanks... that's what my dealer told me. But it doesn't tell me why there's a lower output from a B3030 though. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif It's like buying a L5030 with 41hp. It doesn't make sense. There must be a reason for that. A B3030 is the next model after a B2630 and it's more expensive but it has less pump output... I should consider myself lucky to have more horsepower than a B2630. Why they didn't build a B3030 with 22hp then?

I agree that it doesn't make since. The only way that you could find out would more than like be to speak to one of the engineers that worked on these tractors originally.

Does it have to do with the 2630's higher rpm'S ?

My understanding is that the B2630 and B3030 are the same tractor with different size engines. I did note that the B2630 is rated at 2800, B3030 at 2600 rpm's. 200 less RPM's would have less output from the same pump.

I think its because the 2630 is based on a newer core chasis than the 3030 is.

I agree with Mr. Hall. The 200rpm could account for the additional .7gpm from the same pump. Kubota probably doesn't see it as an issue as 9.1gpm surpasses the flow requirement of any Kubota made option for that model.

ronjhall,... sorry Mr. Hall /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif, I think you have a point here. 200 rpm, could be the cause of it. To be sure, I'll ask my dealer if the two pump part numbers are the same. If it is then it's the rpm for sure.

The rpm shouldn't have anything to do with the pump out put in gpm. The relief is set below max rpm. Like Neil said, the casting has to be different. The max gpm is determined by the diameter and thickness of the gears in the pump.

Relief is for max pressure. GPM output is controlled by RPM's and size of pump.

You would think that by now that I would know not to post when my migraines are real bad. Each rotation of the pump is x amount of cc's. The more rpm the more gpm. Does anyone have a shop manual for these two tractors? I still bet that the housing is different for the pumps. I will be back tomorrow.

It sure would be a good piece of information if we knew if pump was the same. For what its worth, B2710 and 2910 have the same pump.
