I want one! I have a new B3030 and the first thing I noticed was the vulnerability of the fuel filter. Seriously, what would you charge me to make one?
The first time I hooked up the brush cutter on my B2910, I knocked the filter loose enough to start leaking. Went straight to the shop and built a guard. I don't understand Kubota's decison about the location at all. I didn't realize they hadn't fixed that with the 2630/3030 model.
Yeah, I'd say you've just gotten yourself started with some side work.
I think that's how BroTech got started. Keep up the ideas & fabrication, and pretty soon you may need your own web page.
The original is made out of 11 guage but I have some 14 guage that I have cutout and will mock up tomorrow too see if it is sturdy enough, so.. I will let you all know here when I have them available. will snap some pics and post of the process if I remember.
Finished the 14 guage prototype here are some pics. Feels pretty strong and will definately deflect debris, won't stop bullets like the 10 guage one would but I don't think anyone has that problem.
I bent the curve on a break but I think a roller would work better so I am going to see if I can find one to use. I should have them ready next weekend. More details to follow.
These should fit any B2630 or 3030 with a FEL, I am not sure of any other models.
