OK, I know these questions have probably been answered before, but searching this forum is starting to be a little like searching the entire internet! I will be using a bunch of implements and need information on the difficulty of making changes on these tractors. The B2910 is my first choice.

First, how easy is it to remove and reinstall the 72" midmount mower?

Second, how about the loader?

Third, does any hardware associated with the loader interfere with installing a front snowblower?

Thanks in advance to all 2710/2910 owners who take their valuable time to respond!

I have the 2710. 72" mid-mount is simple to install (with the loader on)--5 minutes tops taking your time. The 60" does not look like too much fun. Ref. my previous post where I list the differences--both are in the same owners manual and I went through step by step about a year ago. I think you can click on my 'profile and scan my posts which should make finding it much easier.

Loader is even easier--3 minutes tops. Really a great design.

Can't offer input on the blower, might check with a dealer or Carver's Equipment. Good luck!

I have a B7500 with a front snowblower; it requires a mounting frame in the front that needs
to be removed in order to put the mod-mount mower on. I haven't done that yet, as I've only
had the tractor for a few months.

It was easy to pull the blower off and put the loader on; pull out a few pins, unhook the PTO and
hydraulic lines and pull it away.

Same with putting the loader on; easy. Just drive the tractor into the loader, hook up the lines,
then stick the holding pins in place. Took about five minutes, four of which were lining up the
tractor with the loader arms.

Was alot easier than I expected. I had had problems with blowing snow because I have a long
gravel driveway and kept breaking the shear pins. I would have pull the blower off and stuck the
loader on and used that instead, but, being new to the tractor, I was afraid that I would get the blower
off and not be able to hook up the loader or the blower again and then be stranded with a snow filled
driveway. Now that I see how simple it is, I won't hesitate to switch them back and forth as necessary
during the winter (note: you can actually leave the loader on with the snowblower attached, but you
can't use the loader and it would be in the way in terms of seeing in front of you).

The loader is a piece of cake! Couldn't be easier.

The mid mount mower is fairly easy too, physically hooking it up to the lift arms, but occasionally I have a bit of a problem sliding the colar of the shaft onto the mid PTO using jnut one hand, (not a whole lot of room for both arms) and I may be overly cautious, but I'm always worried the colar isn't fully locked. But I guess all the Mid mount mowers are that way.

Goos Luck

Steve,Spray some WD-40 or other spray lube,I use a Silicone,on the collar of the power shaft. It will slide right on the PTO shaft and lock a LOT easier.

Dave, where 'bouts in MN are you located? I purchased my 2910 a few months ago, but haven't removed the loader yet (too much fun moving snow around). Now that spring is finally here, I need to pick up a mower deck soon. I'm between Rochester and Oronoco...if you're in my area and want to see the loader removed first hand, let me know ('course, I'll have to try it once before you come /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif).

Take the time to find M. Sullivan's post comparing the 60" and 72" MM decks....lots of good info in that thread!

I have a 2910 with front mount snowblower and FEL. I had a 60" midmount mower. The snowblower has a frame that mounts under the tractor. That is the problem. The FEL can be used with the underframe mounted without any problem. The snowblower goes on or off the frame mount very easily. Of course, you cannot use the blower and the FEL.

My 60" midmount mower was hard to set up and it cannot be used with the frame for the snowblower. There is alot of hardware for the mower and some of it interferes with the snowblower frame and must be take off. I saw what had to be taken off to mount the frame and had the mechanic take off all the midmount hardware. I am trading the mower back for credit. You can make the change between the two but its going to be about a 2 hour job requiring jacks etc. This made me decide on a 3point mower.

I have a B2710, FEL, SB, and 72" mid-mount mower deck.

As has been stated, the FEL and the SB frame are compatible. However, the SB frame does stick out a foot or so, so you cannot get as close to some things when it is mounted. Also as has been stated, the SB and mid-mount mower deck are not compatible because of the under tractor frame required for the SB. However, on my 2710, I do not need any jacks to mount or remove the frame (it is HEAVY). Once you learn how to do it, it takes maybe 45 minutes. I use the hydraulics of the SB frame to raise the front. The rear isn't too heavy and is put on first (you also have to remove the mower connection point at the front of the tractor). Probably the biggest problem is remembering how to do it after a seaon of mower use. Write yourself a note detailing how you went about it.

I have no problems getting the mower deck mounted. Both the FEL and deck are MUCH better for mounting than what I had with my B1750.

Hope this helps.

Bob.

Thanks to all who replied to my questions. It has really helped me in my decision making. Jerry, I'm north of Duluth and I have to drive more than 2 hours to get to a Kubota dealer, either in North Branch or in Wisc. Only John Deere in Duluth, and I'm afraid of picking up a lemon. Maybe my fears are unjustified (?) but I think I have a better shot at a reliable unit with Kubota.

I've got an l3600 with loader, and front blower. I think things mount the same on mine. The front blower comes in two sections. the blower, and a front quick hitch. the front quick hitch can be used with for a plow blade, the blower, or a broom.

The quick hitch is similar to the loader in terms of difficulty to remove. I just leave a cheap floor jack under the assembly to help push the assembly back into the tractor brackets when I need to reinstall the front hitch.

Unless you are planning on using the tractor for turf maintenance only, you will probably want to take off the front quick hitch - as it sits a good 6 to 8 inches below the tractor belly.

I live near Elk River, and have dealt with Olson power in North Branch - Try to work with Roger - he seems to know best what's going on around there, he found a used top-n-tilt on a back shelf for me - they're good guys to deal with.
