Well, add two more B2710 trans to the list, friend of mine,David's has 100 hours on it,ours has 185.I was blading our drive this past weekend and out of nowhere I hear what sounds like a bearing going out, right about where the hydro bolts to the back of the block.I just backed the tractor in the shop and shut it down, not wanting to do anymore damage then what has already happened.Davids tractor has been acting up since almost day one.He has been told by a Kubota Rep.,not the dealer, to "just keep on running it,it will be fine" This rep also has his own personal 2710,that he says is also making the same noise, but he was'nt worried about. Now,what kind of advise is this? Especially coming from a dealer rep.Well, I called our dealer yesterday and told him of the problem, his reply was that he would "get right on it" Knowing the dealer as I do,I'm satisfied he will do just that.My question for M Sullivan and anyone else is,just exactly was is happening to these new hydro's? By just making a guess,it "sounds" like a bearing spinning inside the aluminum housing.I don't expect a new tractor, but I do want the problem fixed and repaired "right".Should I demand a new trans plus the dual filter upgrade? Or should I be happy with repairing what "sounds like" a bad bearing?Either way tractor has to be split,I'm looking for some imput before the dealer calls back with a plan.
