B2710 w/Backhoe?

Hayden - Thanks for the BH info. I have a NH TC33D, so my fit and options may be a bit different than yours, but your descriptions have definitely given me some good info on what to look for when shopping for a backhoe. Now I just need to figure out how/if I can justify the $$.

mswanson - Looks as though you and I have the same tractor. I am looking at the NH 757C as well. What does it do for your ground clearance with the backhoe mounted? Do the various brackets that stay on the tractor affect clearance much when the BH is removed?

John, It does give you less ground clearance as do most subframe backhoes. I would have to get under and measure to determine how much it effects it but in the 43 hours that I have had this machine so far it hasn't been a concern. I liked the fact that it is easy on/off and you can leave the 3 pt hitch arms on. I am not sure if New Holland makes it or if another company makes it for them but it seems quite capable for its size. I was able to get it for $5,000 bundled in with the purchase of the new tractor. I was working at my father in laws this weekend and he has a JD 4100. It was amazing how much quieter and smoother my tractor sounded than his. Makes me glad I didn't go with the green.

I'm sure we can help justify the $$ for you. We're all experts at it. I'm going to try using mine to pick up litter along the road side, and Boondox came up with using a BH as a pooper scooper for his dog's deposits.

There's lots of creative thinking available. I think we should start a Tractor and Implement Rationalization and Justification training course to help out our fellow tractor nuts.

Try:
Lifting the poor old dog into the back of the truck so he can still enjoy rides

Compacting the trash in the cans so she won't hurt herself jumping on it.

Cleaning the gutters (after you get the hang of it)

Washing windows ( after you really get the hang of it)

Clemwood, to me, MC and Hayden have made the point... does Kubota make and sale a backhoe for the B... What is the problem.... Not use - maybe abuse.. To put a little light on this.. take a look at front end loader buckets. I have seen some that where all beat up, I do not understand how anyone could bend them in to such a crumpled mess... So where there is a way some knuckle head will go far past the norm and tear it up. But for most it will never be a problem.
