I am planning/leaning toward a B2920 but would like to question the 1/4" positioning. I have a metorite 51" 3 pt snowblower, woods 52" tiller and woods 5' scraper blade which is why I am leaning toward the b2920 for the 49" width. b3200 is 54" wide main reason but little bigger and more hp. Anyways any draw backs on the 1/4" 3 pt positioning? Can it be set down in "float" mode for the blower and scraper? I have slide bar adjustements on tiller to keep that at desired level. One more thing while then mid mount mower is installed does the 3 pt move with that or can you purchase separate lift kit for the mmm like Deere's have?

1/4" is not quite as good as position control of course but for most duties in a B series, it is fine. It can be set to "float" down. After a while it will float down further if there is room for the implement to move...mostly with something like a bushhog. The only 3pt I have used on my B2320 is a tiller and like you said it has skids on the tiller to keep the height adjusted.

When the MMM is installed, there are a couple pins you use to "pin up" the MMM to keep it in the up position. They take about 2 minutes to install/remove.

The good news about the 1/4" valve system is it will raise or lower the implement very smoothly. You can "bump" the implent up or down in small increments by bumping the lever to the first stop, roughly 1/4" movements. Or you can pull the lever all the way back and it will raise the implent to the top or until you let off the lever. You can set it at a specific position, such as an inch off the ground, but there is nothing to mark where that it is so you have to just eye ball it. Also, it will not stay at that height over a prolonged period. I checked mine once and if I remember right, it would drop about 3/4 inches in 10 minutes. I don't have a snow blower or tiller, so I can't comment on them. My rear blade I seldom use for anything except snow and I just put it down and go, so it works ok for it. With the box blade I just set it down and use the top link to adjust how much it digs in, so it works ok for it. I do not like the system when mowing with the brush hog mower as it will not keep the front end of the mower off the ground over a long period, so you have to bump it up every 10 minutes or so. I put chains on mine to hold it at the height I want.

You can use the 3 pt hitch with the MMM on. You raise the mower to the top and set the mower height using the control knob to top and it will stay up. Then you can lower the 3 pt hitch. You could not though mow with something on the 3 pt hitch as it will lower when you lower the mower.

I think most of the people on this board, including me, would prefer to have position control. In the Kubota line, it is only available with the Bxx30, which is the premium feature Kubotas.

Just to chime in, though I have a BX, but it does have the 1/4" 3PH control, that the hitch will float up but not down. It's not like the float position on the FEL control. There is no down pressure on the 3PH (which is normal), so a rear blade or blower for instance can float up over small humps/bumps, but they will not float down past wherever the hitch is set at (unless you hold the hitch control in the down position, but I don't think that's what you're asking).

You don't have to pin the MMM to keep it up when using the 3pt. That is what the "top" position is for on the height dial.

I tend to bump or push the 3 pt control lever when using the FEL joystick. Any implement on the 3 pt drags the ground unexpectedly. If I am using the FEL I have learned that the 3 pt stays up or at the level I position it at if I close the Fast/Slow control valve. I have to open it slightly to make an adjustment, but I prefer this to the implement dragging the ground. Seems like that would work to hold the bush hog the preferred distance from the ground as well.

I just purchased a B2920 and in the manual it states that the 3PT Hitch can be raised or lower in 1/4" Increments, but when I tried this the 3 pt or the MMM did not move at all.

The manual states the following "The lever position (C) enables you to control the valve with ease in increments of approximately 1/4 inches at the lower link end."

Can anyone provide me any insight on how to properly use or adjust this function.

Thanks,

Joe

Joe, move the lever to the extremes for fast adjustment (valve wide open). Or tap it against the stop for slow adjustment (valve barely cracked open). If you repeatedly tap it against the stop, you get about 1/4" increments each time, hence the name "quarter incher".

Make sure you have some weight on the 3-point if you want it to move down. If it's unloaded, it won't go down on it's own. You may be looking at it and thinking nothing is happening, but in reality it's acting as expected.

If there is no weight in the 3-point, you can press on the arms with a foot to lower it when you move the lever. Then you can experiment with the quarter-incher going back up.

Finally, it's possible you may need to adjust the stops, but first try out what I mentioned above.

As the others have said, when adjusted correctly, the lever can be "bumped" or pulsed which lowers or raises the 3 pt implement in 1/4" increments. This is very helpful when adjusting the depth of my cultivator or plow. Those are the two implements where I use it constantly.

I feel fortunate in that mine came through adjusted flat out perfectly. It works very, very well.

If it's like the BX models, sometimes you need to move the stops for the 1/4" feature to work correctly. If yours is not moving in the 1/4" position, find the stops and adjust them out (so the lever moves a bit further up/down).
