B2920 "arroooogahh" Sound

Does it only do it when you are using the rear blade and when the blade is on the ground working? Could be the blade is causing a vibration somewheres. One place to check is the ROPS hinge joint. They can rattle a lot there. The other thing to check which can make some strange noises is the wheel. Make sure the lug nuts are all tight.

Thanks guys. It seems to be independent of blade being on the ground. I will check the Rops and wheels.

The sound comes to an abrupt halt when I release the forward pedal and stop. Doesn't this make it unlikely that it would be an engine issue?

How about making a video and posting? Might help if we could hear the noise too.

That'll probably take care of it. Go out to try to make a video and the sound will never happen again!! LOL!

I will try to get something posted this week. Thanks once again!!

Agreed the engine's probably not the source. A video with sound would help, if you can.

More ideas:

Disengage the front wheel drive and test again for the sound. Still in 2WD & drivetrain relaxed, go under & grab ahold of the front driveshaft, shake on it and try to discern if any looseness in the bearing.

Great I will look at that too. So when you were referring to bearing, you were talking about the front driveshaft? I am really not very mechanically savy so apologize for the novice questions.

If your driveshaft for the front axle has a plastic cover on it trying loosening it up (it's clamped) and rotating the cover. It's a known issue on B series. It (the squeal) will reappear periodically, as the cover rotates back out of position.

Thanks will look at that too. If this plastic cover is the culprit, Would you expect the noise to be nonexistent if in 2wd?

Not necessarily ...

It seems to me that, IIRC, it is usually only present in one of the drive modes on my machine ... but I don't recall offhand which one it is ... it could very well be 2WD ...

Could it be your brakes are partially applied and dragging?
