b2920 snowblower

gentelman, can a b2920 handle a 63in blower or do you have to go with 51 in. high cap. blower? one dealer said yes and the other said no. cant get a b3000 for 3 months so i was considering the b2920 with fel and blower. need some info? thanks

I bought a B2920 with a 63" front mount 2782 blower in December. I have walked through knee high drifts with absolutely no problem. I was originally going to get the smaller 51" but the dealer sold the last one the day before I leaped.............Thank goodness. I really like the build on this larger, commercial grade blower. . . . and best of all, I paid about $300 more for the blower.

Get the big one.

thanks for info, did u even get to look at the 51in.? how far does the 63in blow snow? do u have a cab?

The 51" B2781A is just as well made as the B2782. The BX2750 is the lighter duty 50" unit. I personally think the 63" is too much for this series.

I did not see the 51" The dealer was trying to sell the 2750 originally. I suppose if the 63" starts to bog, I'll either go slower or take a smaller cut.

Go with the 63 inch blower

I own the 51" industrial blower...great blower

The 29 hp 3 cylinder has NO trouble turning this blower

Here is why I will tell you to get the wider blower. With a 5 ft rear blade/box blade you will be cutting into/wider than the front blower and will leave spoil on any close pass

I would caution that it depends on the snow you will be working on.
Up here I run a 60" on a~40hp machine and sometimes it works the tractor pretty hard. But we measure snow in feet rather than inches.
If you usually have a foot or two on a short drive then I think it would be fine, but three to four feet on a long drive on a regular basis would be a workout.
Also is it very cold normally and so light and fluffy, or that mid Atlantic slush that is much harder to blow.

I have no doubt. I had one incident of heavy snow accumulation that got rained on and it really taxed the B2620/51" combo. The 51" covers my tracks, but not by much. I find that in the really heavy snow, switching from medium to low range reduces the bogging/loss of RPMs.
