'09 Kubota B3030HSDC
My 2009 comes next month. The front mount snow blower was behind at manufacturer. I am still nervous about how much traction I will get with the 4wd as I have a long sloped laneway. I have the rears weighted but I haven't had 4wd before and I am curious just how much traction improvement I will notice compared to my bigger 2wd David Brown with wet rears.? Any user feedback on 4wd with this unit?
Thx...

Here is what I did with my B3030 and I have not had any problems with traction plowing my 1/2 mile driveway/road with a very steep 30 degree slope.

I have rim guard in the rear tires for added weight, wheel spacers so that the chains fit, "V" bar 2 link chains on all four, and a Kubota 6 foot front blade mounted to the quick hitch. I have not had any problem plowing up to 2 feet of snow both up and down the hill. It's been working great ... a real snoe fighter. Only wish I had a cab! Good luck!

Thx for feedback! I can't wait to try the cab! I am still stiff necked from my David Brown.

Munchie,
I give you a satisfaction guarantee on your new tractor! I have turfs loaded with rimgard, no chains. The only time I get into trouble is when i venture off of dirt or pavement onto grass.I have a couple hills to deal with, but not terribly steep. You may want to get the rear wheel spacers as you will need them if you ever want to run chains (or put a Woods backhoe on it). If you didn't get the radio box.... you'll want it. I'd opt out of the Kubota radio and get a decent car stereo for it........ tunes make snow removal a great time. If you are financing the whole deal, I also recommend a chute deflector control. This is how big storms are gonna look like for you in the future....................

Good video! I will likely add an aftermarket radio now.
Thx...I could show you REAL snow but I'll wait for the new unit!

Have spec'd out a B3030HSDC on Kubota's website and am awaiting replies from dealers. Here's how it prices out:
$21,938 base
$ 131 Rear wiper
$ 2648 FEL
$ 856 4 way valve with loader (that's how Kubota prices them out on the site)
$ 514 Rear Defogger
$ 26,087 total. Excluding Kubota's built in price for ballast box. Already have 3ph model.
Of course this price is without taxes, delivery, etc. Just getting a basic plan together.
Main reason for looking is that I cannot find a cab for my excellent shape (178 hours) 2004 JD 790 4x4 with 419 FEL and R4 tires. Have not decided whether to trade or sell privately until the offers come in from dealers.
Can better deals be had than sticker price with our current lousy economy? It's been nearly 5 years since I tractor shopped so I thought I'd ask a little advice here.
Thanks!

Last I recall, the radio through Kubota was $250+ ....... for half that you can get an aftermarket radio with Ipod and USB inputs,etc.

How far are you from NH? Might it be worth the drive? Theres no sales tax here.

Its been over a year, but when I was shopping tractors, my local dealer was quoting approximately 10% off list price before any haggling. I'd call that pretty average.... if you are doing better than 10 off list you are doing pretty well. Not sure if there is and difference price wise, but when shopping around look for the HSDCC, which is the cold weather package. This will come with the rear defroster / 60 amp alternator. Perhaps its cheaper the get the HSDCC than add the defroster to the HSDC? Do yourself a favor and get the radio mounting kit. It will allow you to add an inexpensive stereo. I couldn't live without one now..... whether its snow removal, or spring planting shoveling dirt out of the bucket with a shovel, the radio makes time fly by.

One offer that I've received so far is my 2004 JD 790 4x4 (178 hours, 419 FEL, R4 tires and very nice shape) plus $15,788 to trade. They claim to have 5 on the lot that were "ordered before the price increase". I assume the specs are as I noted in the other post and on Kubota's build sheet that I submitted.
Just replied to his email and am waiting for a breakdown on that figure. I want to know the Kubota price, trade in allowance, tax, etc.

If you went with turf tires & rimguard you will be all set. Great tractor, nice cab, plenty of power & high end features, good on fuel. I was very happy with my B3030 and i would have held on to it, i just couldnt afford to make payments on 2 tractors!

Thx..I did go turfs with rimgaurd. Locals were saying that set up is very good. I was wondering about the 4 wheel drive as my David Brown has a very slippery front end on snow filled laneway edges. I was wanting to hear about good bite on the front end with the 3030.??

The 2 dealers that I've heard from so far have both suggested rimguard but I doubt very much I'll go for it.
Only have a couple of flat acres. As far as rimguard being a counter balance for the FEL, I have a 3ph ballast box or else there is always a mower or snow blower on back to balance out any front end load.
One area of the yard doesn't dry as fast as the rest and I'd rather not have the extra weight in the tires when finish mowing.

Im sure you will find the 4WD much better, dont forget about the differential lock when the going gets real tough.

The ballast box should give you what ever the rimguard would with the advantage of adjusting weight and/or removal when not needed. I have read the rimguard is corrosive to the rims and recommendations of inner tubes for rimguard or windshield fluid for tires seems to prevent having to replace the rims when they rust out in 5 to 10 years.

As far as I know, Rimguard is non corrosive. I think you are thinking of calcium chloride. One nice thing about loaded tires is....... it makes the tractor more stable since the weight is down low.

1* I think its's the calcium chloride that causes the rusty rims not rim guard or windshield washer fluid.

Glad for that info...my tractor is not yet delivered...so I will insist on rimguard and not calcium chloride as they may have intended to use.
Thx

You guys have said to read first and then ask questions, but I messed up...sorry for the erroneus comment earlier. C @ P from manufacturer...

Rim Guard was developed and patented in 1998 as a liquid tire ballast that overcame all of the shortcomings of other liquid tire ballasts.
Rim Guard is nearly 30% heavier than water.
Rim Guard is non-corrosive.
Rim Guard is non-toxic and biodegradable.
Rim Guard is freeze-resistant down to -35ーF.
Rim Guard is cost effective because inner tubes are not needed and tires are easier to repair.

If any of the dealers that I've inquired with via Kubota's website don't wake up, it won't matter.
First offer was for retail sticker. Are Kubotas flying off the lots so fast that it isn't necessary for them to deal? 2nd offer was $1400 off sticker, but possibly a lower amount for my JD 790 on trade. They'd need to see the tractor first, which I understand completely.
Still awaiting about 4 more quotes. Sometimes I think that equipment dealers are still a little behind the curve when it comes to internet dealings as compared to car/pickup dealers.

I got my call today it's here and I sealed my new from the factory B3030-HSDF deal,with FEL-403,60MMM, and loaded turf tires delivered for $19,700.00 no tax, at Lawsons Building supply in RoseHil,Va, ask for chris, it's gonna be delivered Tuesday,

Kubota online priced out at $23,375.00(subtracting the Ballast) so I'm looking at a little more than 15 or 16 percent off, with the delivery and loaded tires, so I think I got a pretty fair deal, and that was about the bottom I could get with ordering a new unit, some older units on other lots might get as little better price but I wanted new, so you might offer around that and see how your deal works out,
