B7500 Noise

</font><font color="blue" class="small">( A very common problem with the B7500 is the hub tension bolt coming loose. It should be torqued about every 50 hours. When it comes loose it creates a squealing/ginding type sound. The bolt can be found on the back side of the hub. It tightens a shim which holds the hub on the axle.

Is there any reason not to use a little Blue locktite on them to prevent this?

It'd be alot harder to remove later... If you get new style hubs this problem has been addressed and they dont seem to have the issue.

Good question..... I'll defer to some more experienced mechanics.... If I understand this process correctly though, the hub needs to be retorqued in the beginning as the parts "seat" with each other. As time goes by this will become less of a problem. In that case, locktite would make sense after the parts have seated, but would be of little value in the beginning. And, actually I am noticing that the last few times I've done it, they have been much tighter than before. I am just a little paranoid after seeing how loose they were in the beginning, so I am retorquing on a regularly basis....

Back to being nervous again. Took wheel off, cleaned, reinstalled and re torqued bolt. Thought it went away but after using the loader to move some stone, the noise came back. More noticeably when in reverse and in 4wd. The noise seem to be comming from the front. Its not a grind but a vibrating squeal is how I would describe it. Any ideas??

jbcat2, I believe that my B7500 HST has the same squeal coming from the hydro transmission as yours does. I never noticed this squealing noise until I did the 50 hour service and changed the two hydro filters. The new Kubota left side blue filter was a shorter filter than the original Kubota left side gray filter. This is the only difference that I noticed when I did the 50 hour service. I don't know if this shorter filter is causing the squeal, but that's the only thing that's been changed that's not the same as the original. I get the squeal in 2wd & 4wd, forward & reverse. The farther I push the pedal , the more it squeals. Does not do it at very low speed. When you find out what it is, please post.

A friend has a B7500 and he was freaking out over a noise in his tractor. We tightened the rear hubs as stated by some earlier post. When it made the noise, it sounded like it was coming from the front and under the tractor. Turns out it is only the front drive shaft rubbing on the plastic cover. It still makes the noise but now he just ignores it. Hope that's all your noise is.

How did you find out that it was the front drive shaft??? That is the area where the noise is comming from. Thanks - JB

He talked to the dealer about the noise and the dealer suggested that might be the problem since they'd seen another one with an unidentifiable noise and that's what it was. Get down low and have someone drive it past and then it is obvious that that is where the noise was coming from. It wouldn't make the noise till it was driven a few minutes and then it would make the sound forward and backward, but the sound was slightly different forward and backward. Hope that's what you are hearing, since the cover is plastic, he just ignores the noise now.
