B7800 - Almost a done deal (YIKES!)

Re: B7800 - Not so almost!

So go back and ask for a better deal on a 2710 or a 2910.

I think things are in your favor, as far as dealing goes. Now go jump in there and give it your best shot.

I have a 7800, quite happy with it, but those telescoping links sure look sweet. Did I just say that?

Re: B7800 - Not so almost!

But that is just the problem . . . there seems to be no tractors in the pipeline! People are buying these things faster than they are coming in. As far as I know my dealer doesn't have any BX2200's, or B7500's either (had several 2 weeks ago). Basically said Kubota is out of stock at the moment.

I'll try asking about the B2910 tomorrow and see what he says. He did tell me that a dealer 15 miles away had 2 left, but wouldn't trade one to him. Said I could go there and see if they'd give me the same price. I really don't want to take my business elsewhere yet - they've been treating me well. Says a lot about a dealership that will have you go somewhere else to buy when they can't get it (just to keep the sale within Kubota anyway). Makes me want to be loyal all the more.

Re: B7800 - Not so almost!

brooster,

Sorry to hear your deal fell through. I also think you should use this opportunity to talk with your dealer about upgrading to a B2910. Let him know how disappointed you were that the deal fell through. He seemed pretty willing to work with you, so maybe he can set you up with a B2910 for a fair price. Does he have any B2910's on the lot? Did he already quote you on the $$$ difference between a B7800 and a B2910 with the implements you had planned? It might not be all that much more, when you look at things over the long run.

Also, I'm assuming you're going to finance a good part of the deal, so what's a couple of more $ per month. That's not usually the way I think, but we're talkin' tractors here! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Anyway, you really would appreciate the extendable lower links.

Good Luck. Keep us posted on your progress.

Re: B7800 - Not so almost!

if u were going to buy a 7800, then u might want to check out a 2910 or 2700.. what u don't want to do is in your frustration buy something that u really don't want, just for the sake of having a tractor. take your time and one will pop up. good luck in your search.

Does your Folding ROPS rattle and drive you crazy? Just curious because the B7800 I am looking at has the folding ROPS and it doesn't seem snug at all. It could easily bang around with each little bump in the yard. I'm worried about that - so much so am thinking of getting the fixed ROPS.

Re: B7800 - Guess what\'s back on??!!!!

My local dealer sent me up the road 15 miles to one of their competitors (not a sister dealership) because they have 2 B7800's in stock. Said I could see if they'd match the price. It did take a little time, but they did finally match! And then he tells me that their price also includes loading the tires. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

So it looks as if I'm back in business! Now my only problem is folding or fixed ROPS. They have both. I know the opinion of most (go with folding), but the one B7800 that they have with the folding, it rattles. I could just see this thing clanging when driving through the yard. So much so that I'm almost sure of going with the fixed. I really have no need for folding where I'm at, unless I end up running through the lawn to mow.

I should also mention that there were no B2710/B2910's in the area either.

Thanks for all the opinions.

A pair of Peltor Work Tunes and you'll never hear that ROPS rattle. Truthfully I only have 6 hours on my new Boomer with a folding ROPS and I never heard it rattle once, up or down and that was without the Tunes going.

Steve I have a B2910 I bought a month ago. I have put 35 hours on the machine and have no noise problem with the folding rops. Ask your dealer if the rattle is normal. I tested several machines with folding rops and have never found one with a rattle. It sounds (no Pun Intended) like the rops on that unit needs something done to it. Mike

Re: B7800 - Not so almost!

Hey, you will get one with a little patience. The hot season for tractors (springtime) should be slowing some as we get into the hotter summer months and I bet availability of the 7800 improves quite quickly. It may take a while but at least you have a little more time to think about it some more. You might find you will change your mind about some of the attachments. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
