B7800 tractor with FEL (2003 yr)

I have a B7800 I purchased new back in 2003. Back then it was only used to mow our 7 acres with a Belly mower. It has 315hrs on it, garage kept and dealer serviced. I just purchased the LA402 FEL but then we moved!!! Now trying to sell the entire enchilada. It is an amazing machine, never faltered or had any problems with it. As soon as I can come up with a price I will post it in the classifieds. Awesome tractor

I am not sure what Ronjhall mentioned registered in your mind, but personally I would never buy a B3030 because of the hydraulic operated PTO. At least not if I were going to use a post hole digger!

My BX2200 has the hydraulic operated PTO. So I do have a comparison. My B2910, essentially a B7800 with deluxe features, has the clutch operated PTO, which is SO MUCH better! Much better control of the PTO when engaging. I really dislike engaging the PTO on my BX, no real feathering of it, it just bangs in hard, even when I try to move the lever slowly. Not a big deal as I only use the BX as a mower 99 percent of the time.

Again, having experience with both, I would never buy a B3030...made my mind up about that when they first came out...probably because I was digging a lot of post holes at the time...

I have to disagree with the above statement. I have a B3030 and can slowly engage the PTO by moving the lever about half-way. I run a wood chipper with a ~200 lb flyweel and its important that I don't engage the PTO all at once. Once the wood chipper is up to speed, in a second or two, I engage the pto all the way and increase the RPMs to PTO speed. The only caution in the B3030 manual is to not leave the PTO lever in the half way position while running an implement.

I've had both. My 3030 is a cab model. The pto clutch is a non-issue
even with the post hole digger. Works just fine and can be feathered in.

You'll like either unless you need a cab.
