GREAT weather here at present, mid 20s C daytime and 14 - 15C night. wonderful for the summer school holiday makers, but up in North where I am not so good for us in the country as been below normal rainfall for past several months.

Spent 2 weeks Tasmania not long ago. Nice place, worth a visit, you'd track down your distant relatives very easily

If I were rich (not a likely scenario) I would love to winter down there. I hate the cold. Plus whole new set of stars to gaze at. Sigh.

Figure out where that ball bearing came from.

Tasmania is worth a visit. if you went there, you would easily find your long distant relatives. It is a small place and everybody knows everbody.

I would start with the fluid and filters. Clean the strainer. Sounds like you did some of that already.

The clutch gets used so little on the HST... I would worry more about it sticking than about it slipping.

Can't tell from you message; you are changing range while at a standstill? Make sure your HST pedal is in the "neutral" position? If I am not stopped, or they HST pedal is slightly depressed, the gears complain when I switch ranges.

This is only a 19HP tractor. It is built like a tank, but does not have much power. High range is useful going downhill with a tail wind. I generally run mine in mid-range. Even with that, a hill will slow it down. Low range grunt is pretty good, but slow...

It is really a big tractor for a 19hp motor. Especially if you consider the newer, same size "B" series had 27, 29, and 32HP.

I looked in my owners manual and service manual. They do not say much of anything about HST(this tractor was made in gear version too).

You drained the fluid, from the fluid drain below and to the right of the PTO? You changed the hydro filter under the left fender? And cremoved/cleaned the strainer, located on the underside of the tractor, kind of below the range lever? Fluid is full, using the fill port under the left front of the seat. Dipstick is under the right fron edge of the seat? If drained completely, you'll use about 4.5 US gallons of fluid(manual lists 18 litres).

I have used Kubota UDT, as well as Valvoline hydro fluid from the local car parts store.

Have you used a HST before? You know pressing more on the HST pedal will bog it down, not make more torque(ie it is not like a gas pedal). Pushing harder may make the tractor go fast with no load, but will bog it down if there is a load. When I first got mine 10+ years ago, I had to get used to the HST; I tried to drive it where if I needed more power I stepped more on the HST pedal; exact opposite of what should be done.

Since it is only a 19hp tractor, I have found it is real important to
- keep the radiator screen clean so it does not run hot
- keep the air filter cup cleaned out
- keep the air filter clean
- keep the HST/hdro fluid full, the filter and strainer clean

I have the owner manual and service manul right here. I can try to look up info if you need. It is printed with a gear tranny in mind though.

Texas Hill country is cold?! I've been in Austin and environs in FEB and it ain't cold, maybe in Jan? (Sorry, I live in Maine)

Hi there, have the same problem with a B8200, have changed the filter but where are the screens...??
have tried to download the parts book from the place u quoted but a message pops up to say it's TOOOOOO busy.....
