This is what I broke on my LiTW 7601 within 2 hours of having it home :(. I was so upset. I called the dealer immediately to ask for a refund but he was not there, the next day he called back and talked me into bringing him the hoe to check the bypass valve settings. He says he has never seen this happen before and he assures me he will get it corrected at no cost, other than the fuel to drive the 120 miles one way, to me. Just have to wait 7-10 days for a new cylinder to be delivered. Then he is going to check the settings and play with the hoe to assure that it is not faulty metalergy on the cylinder rods.
I am VERY disappointed at the moment. I paid $6k for a backhoe, thumb, and pump (I opted out of installing remotes due to my dealer's price, too high and I will boycott him from now ON!) and it only lasted 2 hours.
I will let you gents know how this turns out for sure.

Wow, that stinks. How did it happen? Was something set up incorrectly? Hope you don't have trouble with getting it fixed up quickly. I know it can be disappointing to have a new piece of equipment that you can't use.
If it's a manufacturing flaw, or set up wrong by the vendor I would ask for a replacement of the whole unit.
Good luck and let us know what happens.

Mark

I did ask for a replacement but the dealer only ordered one of the 7601 and one of the 6501 or whatever the smaller unit is. Basically if I want a curved boom like I had I would have to settle for the smaller unit.
I took the hoe to the dealer cause he suspects a too high bypass setting, needed to put a meter on it I presume. Yes, spending 6 grand and only using it for 2 hrs is disheartening. Oh well, stuff happens.
It broke while I was pulling to the tractor an cupping the bucket, caught a root about 2" in diameter (no where too big for this hoe, IMO) and snap. I feel it is possible poor metal in the cylinder itself. Who knows, if it happens again I am asking for a FULL refund. I oughta ask for a reimbursement for fuel expense too!
I ll let you guys know what happens when I pick it up.

Well I got the hoe back yesterday and I am pretty satisfied with the way it all ended. First off the folks at tripleddd equipment are top notch Christian folks. From the moment I met them I could tell they were good people. Also as soon as I emailed them about my failure (with the attached pics) they called me and wanted to know details. etc al
I took the hoe to them, they wanted my tractor but I could not part with her for a week, they pressure tested the hoe and ordered a new cylinder. Long story short, my relief settings were too high?!?? For some reason or another warranty did not cover the cost of he cylinder but the parts supplier halved the cost with the dealer. The dealer said that even though he has never had this happen he believed it was not a misuse problem and he wanted to keep my business.....Impressive in todays marketplace if you ask me. Heck I went to buy a new truck the day I got the hoe and could not get the fat111 salesman to even talk to me.....he was on the darn golf cart even......
I am rambling but I am excited to have the hoe home. If anyone is interested in a 3 pt hoe or Asian tractors look up www.tripleddd.com
I will post pics of the hoe in action soon......
Thanks for all replies thus far....
Aaron
