I actually like PA. Especially now that it's in control of an "R" and we'll just leave it at that. ;)

I am in the extreme SE corner, right on the PA/DE border. My street runs the DE border. I'm actually closer to Wilmington, DE (2 miles) than any other PA town. Love it down here. Roll 1 mile south and get tax free shopping in DE. beautiful farms and lots of potential customers for construction, farm & estate work.

Where you?

I agree with the "R" in PA now.

I'm far west PA...15 miles or so from the OH border..Beaver County. No tax free anything around here.

I have no problem with the 1/2 ton GM's. I do not care for the interior or the wheel well styling but the rest of the truck is ok. The 5.3L is gutless but other than that they have been decent trucks but not without faults.

The OP got a good looking truck. Like I said before that grill makes it and the larger tires hide some of the big wheel wells and makes it much better looking in my eyes than the average one. He did good by skipping the ancient 5.3 and getting that 6.2

Where I have a problem is the 3/4 ton and 1 ton GM trucks from about 01 to 10. The light weight chassis, torsion bar front suspension, ect. Again I do not care for the interior or square wheel wells but the chassis was just not up to par.

That all changed with this 2011 GM 3/4 ton and 1 ton. They now have a real chassis but stuck with the torsion bar. That would be my last choice on a HD.

Thanks for taking note:thumbsup:

Chris

I'm gonna take my "not real" GM 1 ton truck and tow my M-7040 & attachments to another jobsite this afternoon. The trailer is only grossing 12,000lb as a bumper pull. I'll be sure to post a new thread when my torsion bars both snap like twigs and my "lightweight" suspension breaks in half. :confused2:

Wonder how a Nissan Titan would do in a bumper to bumper pulling contest against the OP's new GMC, a 0-60 race, or towing a trailer up a hill? I know my GMC would destroy an '07 6L Ford, and not that it has anything to do with the topic, just one of those things that makes you go hmmmmm. ;)

Yes, it's a nice change, isn't it? Fast Eddie needed to go. BTW: Love your Kubota RTV.

Well Chris, you do know that I bought me a "real" truck; a GMC truck a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to use it any yet due to a family emergency, but I feel confident in it. It doesn't have the 5.3L though, it has the 6L gas engine.

I have heard the Nissan Titan pickups run pretty strong. Builder seems pretty sure the GMC is faster 0-60 and says his GMC will "destroy" a 6L Ford. I've posted the video and time slip of my Ford 6.0 PSD 1/4 mile run. It was around 14.25 or so in the 1/4. I'm waiting for Builder to post the video and run slip showing his 1/4 mile run in his GMC to see how much his GMC "destroys" my little ole 6.0 PSD in the 1/4. ;) The proof is in the pudding and I've already posted my time and I'm spotting him a huge amount of weight.

Builder,

Thanks about the RTV...You sure do stir up some commentary:confused:

Nothing like talking trucks to get people fired up.

I like my trucks, and not any two are from the same manufacturer. :D

Yes, I caught you got a REAL TRUCK like Builder. My stomach is still turning.

As for him comparing my 5.6L Titan to a 6.2L GMC is a no brainier for me at least. The GMC will eat its lunch but when my truck was made, 08, there was no 1/2 ton that could touch it. Just like the new 2011 diesels from GMC and Ford would eat his 07 Dmax and my 06 PS for breakfast. I am smart enough to figure that out again. Comparing apples to oranges when you are giving up about 50 HP and 150 FT TQ.

Lets compare even model years and keep it on a even playing field.

I am fairly sure that there are different internal ratios with the 3.42 axles, i.e. the difference isn't as much as the axle numbers alone suggest.
The internal ratios are all indirect these days, there is no 1:1.

Unless you will be towing heavily with it 90+% of the time, whats wrong with just using tow/haul mode when you do trailer ?
I would optimize for the majority of the mileage, not the worst case load.
Few things worse than numerically high gears when running without a trailer.

Of course, your truck is modified , but I bet you think we forgot that :laughing: My gosh this is good stuff. Now my DMAX has to beat a modified ford to be better. The tears are streaming down my face in laughter

Keep it up, HBO doesn't even provide this kind of comedy.:laughing::laughing:
