Backhoe on a cab tractor

Bradco is also another brand to look at.
A buddy of mine has a L4330 with cab and a Bradco with subframe... so this givs ya three manufactures to decide from.

Lets see:

You have Woods, Bradco and Bush Hog that all make hoes to fit. If you buy a large frame tractor as in the "M" series, you shouldn't need a subframe as the frames and cases are substantially heavier than the L series units.

My last tractor, a 5030 HSTC required a subframe for the FEL whereas the M9000 I presently have has no subframe for the loader. That tells me that frame wise, the M's are able to handle the stress of the loader and should be able to handle a 3ph mounted hoe with no problems.

Personally, whatever way I went, I'd get the pto driven pump and holding tank for the hoe. That way, the hoe is completely seperate from the tractor hydraulic system and any problem with the hoe's hydraulic system like a ruptured hose won't drain the tractor's hydraulic system. You can also use a cheaper AW hydraulic fluid in the hoe as opposed to say SUDT that's in the tractor.

I have a woods 9000 for my 5030/cab model, but I did get extensions for it. works great. I did get the PTO pump for the hoe (I had no choice) I just wish I have a 1000RPM pump to idel the tractor down while hoeing around. It would be a lot quiter

Thanks for the advice guys. I know the "M" series tractors have a beefier frame than the "L" series I just didn't know if it would work with a cab and if there was enough room to operater the BH. This sure is a big relief to know that it will work. I guess I just have to decide on which BH I want and add get it ordered.

Thanks

I have a Woods 9000 backhoe on my L4200 - it is on a subframe mount that HAS to leave enough room for a cab. It's hanging way out back there....see?
