Backhoe Backhoe question and advice

Ok, planning on buying a DX33 or equivalant. What size and
brand BH do you think i show get. And what and average
price for such a BH, with a subframe mount. Also another
dum question. If i go with a subframe mount backhoe can i
detach the backhoe to run a finishing mower, and if so how
hard is it to do.

Don't know about the DX33 or what brand of BH to suggest for this tractor, but I would suggest a subframe mount for the backhoe.

could someone post a picture of the backhoe subframe without the hoe on. I also am concerned about using 3pt with the subframe, but have not seen one.

Not sure about the DX but on my New Holland the front subframe brackets bolt right where the belly mower brackets go. You can still use a 3ph mower easily enough.

I went with the Bush Hog backhoe. Subframe mounted with rear remote was $6100 or $6500 installed. I put it on myself and saved $400. It was easy to install. I went with the Bush Hog 750. It's a nice sized hoe and would work well with your tractor or you may want to move up to the 850.

I don't have any pictures of just the subframe. On mine when removing the hoe, the subframe stays with the hoe leaving just 4 small brackets attached to the tractor. There's nothing left to interfere with the 3ph.

Hey, thanks that really helps out. Pictures really look good.
Could not tell from the pictures, what size tractor and HP.
Also i am going to probably get turf tires, since i had my 5 acres leveled and dont want to make any more ruts. Do you
think i need to have my rear tires filled or something, if i get
a BH, and if so, what is there on the market to fill with.

Welcome to TBN from a native buckeye! One of the great features of TBN is the search engine... you can find something on almost any tractor topic.

In May, 2004, one of the regulars here, txdon, posted a series of pictures of how the Kubota BH90 backhoe goes off/on his L5030. That should give you a very clear sense of what is involved. My computer skill isn't up to actually adding the link to those pics in this message, but if you use the search feature in the Kubota Owning/Operating section, and search for BH90, it will turn up.

The changeover from BH to 3pt. is easy. The toplink just pops off, and you have a couple of pins to pull for each of the lower links. 2 minutes, even for a slow poke like me. Another couple minutes to get the BH and tractor lined up, and you're done. It's really only a 10-15 minute job, once you've done it a few times.

The tractor is the TC30, rated at 30hp. I have loaded R-4's on mine. You may want to check to see if turfs are ok to use with a backhoe. I don't know but I think turfs usually have less plies and may not be rated for the load. Some one else here may know for sure.

It's not necessary but it helps to have loaded tires. My dealer fills them with anti-freeze. Some people use windshield washer fluid. Also used is calcium chloride and a newer product called beet juice. The pros and cons of each are discussed in several threads on this board.
