I'm new to using a forum. I use emails mostly. Ihave a Ford 555b backhoe and I'm looking for information about just how the dump valve works and what happens if the wire comes off the solenoid valve, is it necessary?

I cannot help with the problem because I am not familiar with the 555, but.....judging from the lack of replys so far, It seems many may not know what you are talking about.

Perhaps some pics??? What wire?? Is it an electric wire? or a something someone has wired together (machinest wire???)

More details would help also might want to ask under either the New Holland constuction or general construction threads.

What are you refering to as the "dump valve"? For the loader bucket? What solenoid valve are you refering to?

I'm familar with backhoes, Ford, Deere and Cat mainly and I'm not sure what you are refering to.

On a solenoid operated valve, you connect one wire to ground and the other wire is the control wire. If either wire comes loose, then it will not work.

If the solenoid valve is a double ended solenoid valve, 1/2 of the valve may still work.

Some solenoids may have a static state, in that a solenoid operated hyd circuit may function with no power, and with power, the solenoid will shift to another circuit.
