Baling wire options for farm use

Howdy y'all

I unexpectedly found myself without any extra pieces of baling wire laying around. I don't even know where I got the stash that I was using.
All of my round bales are net wrapped, so I have no need for baling wire from a square baler. What is everyone else using as an alternative to actual baling wire from square bales?
I've used light guage elec. fence wire for years. And it does not rust like baling wire. But it is not quite as stiff either.

We have a farm and an assortment of wire. Tie wire is soft and rusts, you can get aluminum wire at most places in small rolls and which is similar but no rust. We have regular and high tensile wire in 2 gauges 10 and 14, and barbless wire. Which is 2 twisted together like barb wire, but no barbs. And then theres plumbers tape, galvanized steel with holes in a roll. Each has its place for use we also have a buch of 14g solid copper stripped off rg6 coaxial from telicom jobs. Best twist ties ever, but its a farm and we always need something. Most of it was picked up at yard sales. Junk left over from somebody's project and sold for a few bucks. Still have a roll of actual bailing wire from my grandfather but can bring myself to use it.
Bailing twine is holding up alot of fence too. Check out the feed stores around, we got a double pack of new bail twine for 10$ cause it was old and the wrong size. Been using that for 7 years.
Thanks

Galvanized electric fence wire is going to be the closest thing out there to baling wire. A 1/4 mile roll of the stuff lasts a long time if you are not putting it up for electric fencing. I use it for the tension wires on fence braces and corners so I always have some around. I do make small squares with a twine-tie baler, not a wire-tie one, so cut twines off of bales sometimes will get used to tie things if it's appropriate.

Can buy the 14ga in 10 ft lengths in bundles with the loops on one end such as we used in the two-man wire tie balers.
