Baltimatic Spreader - Frozen Agitator Pin

I have been using my Baltimatic 80 spreader for years with no problems. It has an agitator attachment that I used a few times when spreading lime, but have not used lately. When I needed to use it again, I could not get the connector pin (Item 5 in the first image) to swivel up to attach the agitator.

It was frozen to the shaft. I tried prying it and soaked it in WD40 and penetrating oil, but it just won't free up.

Any suggestions on freeing it up? I thought about heating with a butane torch.

charlie put a little heat to it then try prying it off. a propain torch should be able to get it hot enough. good luck

I tried heat, penetrating oil, WD-40, and everything else I could think of. Finally I loaded it up and took it to my welder. He called later to tell me it was fixed. I asked what he did, and he said he just put a little oil on it. Go figure.
