As promised, this is how I get subfloor up on deck. Welded this frame together out of scrap. Really saves a lot of work. Should work well for lumber to frame roof as well.

That's a pretty nice looking lift arm. I'm looking @ making one soon but have not decided on the tube size or length.

What are the dimensions on yours?

I have a project coming up that is going to require putting some 4 X 8 sheets on a roof. I have already downloaded your pictures. Great project. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Do you have additional pictures of your fel boom posted on the site? I'd be interested in making such a beast and would like to know what size/type steel you used. Are you having any problems with twisting? ... Scozz

Nice call on the Advantec. That stuff is awesome. I left a sheet out on my deck for about four months in the snow and the rain and it's still perfectly square and flat. It's a bit more $$, but way worth the cost....blows away standard plywood for subfloors and now they're using it as roof sheathing. Excellent product.

dull, That's KA! Nice job on the hoist and the A-frames. I'll keep this post in my favorites for when I build my barn.

Scozz - sent you a PM

JimM - Thanks for the info on the AdvanTech. Swore I would never use OSB, instead of Plywood. Although this appears to be OSB on steroids. Lumber salesman talked me into it , and it appears to be as advertised. Stays flat and true, easier to install than plywood tongue & groove. So far impressed with the product. Also feel free to steal any of devices/ideas that may work for you. I have about one or two original ideas every decade and some of them even work!!!

Advantec is the only way to go. I had so much water and snow in my house you wouldnt believe it. We had one of the snowiest winters in the northeast when i started framing. I resorted to getting my snowblower up on the second floor rather than shoveling. Then we had one of the wettest springs. I had holes drilled in my subfloor to drain the water. I easily had 10+ inches of water from all the rain. Never had one piece buckle or warp.

All 80 sheets of advantec were carried by yours truly to the second floor. It sure would have been nice to see that boom pole with the 4x8 carrier a lot sooner. Also shlepped up all my I joists in the garage by hand.
