All the old dairy barns around here are giving up the ghost and falling by the wayside. Most of the replacements look so industrial, like a California mini-mal.
Your building has real class and craftsmanship, I would like to have that building with my window-view. (I would NOT want most outbuildings to share that view with.)
Congrats on a job exceptionally well done.

Way back when in this post I installed a 16' x 8" Beam to install a trolley and chain hoist on.

Here it is!

What size are your wood I beams and what kind of spacing are you using? I am slowely doing something like that, I have 16" X 24' beams and mine are 16" apart on a 31 pound per foot 16" tall H beam, pictures in my gallery. I know just what your going thru. Thanks
Jim:)

Time to close this one out I suppose. Don't see anymore progress , or dramatic pics coming. Barn is essentially finished. A little paint, some wiring, install a sink, etc. All dull work that really does not warrant pics. Possibly some pics when I get work benches, shelves in??

Thanks for all the kind comments , hope some have been helped in like endeavors by this post.

It's a beutiful barn and one to be proud of!!!

But there is no way you can end the thread without finishing off the inside. Work benches and storage are almost as important as how it looks on the outside.

Thanks for the pictures,
Eddie

Afternoon Dullpain,
Wow what a beauty of a barn. Like one of the other posters stated, its got great classic lines and I especially like the duel shed roofs on each side for those hot summer day wrenching sessions :)

Thanks so much for posting all those great pics and enjoy your new barn ! :)

Beautiful!
You should be proud. It makes my new barn look like a chicken coop.

What did you put on top of your subflooring? It looks gray in the photo.

NICE!, lots of work that's for sure & I know from where I speak :) (see my thread "WKY Horse Barn").

I used the TJI's for the floor in my main loft (16" spacing, 12" TJI's on a 16ft span) & really like the soundness of the floor. No shakes or wiggles. Since I have a seperate shop I did not put in a beam/roller like you did but I like the touch.
