Thanks for the info. If it ships in the next 1-2 years at that price point and specs it may make it hard for the F-150 to get out of the gate.

Other than the new body design I guess most of the technical/software aspects exist today and is well tested in the field. Their unit costs must be dropping like a rock.

Your service department claim is laughable and wrong. The ringing in your ears is affecting the facts. I worked on the EV1 project at the Milford Proving Grounds, Warren Tech Center and Arizona Proving Grounds back when. This car was requested by the State of California CARB to promote a zero emissions goal. They agreed by contract to have 1000's of charging stations in the dense traffic areas. They would be state owned/rented vehicles. So after all the time and energy put into a production startup, the State pulled out because they were broke, had a new Governor, and could not support the notion or the product. No charging stations were ever put in place. The cars were essentially State property and never paid for. GM got stuck holding the bag. That's why they were all crushed / destroyed.

You might be intrigued by the FACT that they had to have a noisemaker operating at all times because their silent operation was likely to surprise or scare pedestrians, bicyclists, animals and other drivers. The beginning of SJWs. At least they didn't require EV drivers to stop every 1/2 mile and let go of a shotgun blast. No longer a lot of horses in traffic out in LA or SF.

Another tidbit: No one was sure what would happen going through the PG car wash. This was a GM requirement. This car wash was notorious for ripping off headlight trim, door seals, antennas, hub caps and license plates. That's what it was tuned to do. Because of its shape, the top and side roller brushed missed the mud coated back end. Looked really ridiculous. HAND WASH stickers were applied.

In yesterday's San Diego news? paper there was an article saying that the local utility,S.D.G.&E. was asking the state P.U.C. for permission to raise $200+ mil. for charging stations in their service area which is fairly small.

Build It and They Will Come..... certainly that aspect to all this, and IMO, this is where Elon helped speed things along getting chargers bolted to the ground and wired. Getting Things Done requires a different mindset than Getting Somebody Else to Pay.....

But...... still needs a grid that will stay On though....
