For the fifth consecutive week, the nation’s average gas price has fallen, declining 14.4 cents from a week ago to $3.21 per gallon today according to GasBuddy data compiled from more than 11 million individual price reports covering over 150,000 gas stations across the country. The national average is down 56.5 cents from a month ago and 11.0 cents per gallon lower than a year ago. The national average price of diesel has fallen 14.9 cents in the last week and stands at $4.91 per gallon.

Unfortunately, probably not viable in the next few decades as an energy source but someday...
It's hard to say how long it could be...technology tends to advance at faster rates once original milestones are reached...
This milestone could also spark (NPI) a lot of new funding and investment dollars...

Now where are all the uninformed members that scoffed when I mentioned nuclear fusion a few weeks ago...???
Its just like all the "battery breakthroughs" that are announced but we never see in production.

So they finally got 120% of the energy they used? Considering it takes decades to build a new nuclear power plant do you really think this will go into production in your grandkids' lifetime?

My name is on a few construction drawings for the Mirror Fusion Test Facility at LLNL dated 1980. They have been working on fusion for a long long time.

You should research the difference between fission and fusion...!

You should teach yourself the difference so you wouldn't compare it to the reasons it takes so long to build a fission reactor...!

Here is a clue...heat is not radioactive...!
The key to fusion is scale...

So has fusion been cracked?

While an energy output higher than that of the lasers that power NIF’s reactor would be extremely positive, there is still much more work to be done.

For a reactor to be generally useful, it would have to produce more energy than was initially put into the lasers. Inefficiencies involved in producing laser light from electricity mean that is currently not the case – Sarri estimates that if 2.1 megajoules of energy was output by the laser then NIF would have had to draw “tens” of megajoules from the electricity grid to achieve it.

Even once a reactor can offset the true energy required by the lasers, it would only be breaking even. For fusion to become a viable alternative to existing power sources, we must be able to extract a large amount of net energy.

LoL...Again I ask...how many EV enthusiasts believe that there have been UFOs from somewhere besides Earth visiting nearby space ???

How many think that those UFOs are powered by an energy source that we are familiar with to date...???

Why are you obsessed with UFOs this must be the 10th time you've posted this?
