63425_I.jpg For what it's worth. Just a mention of what I consider to be a very important add on for lawn and Garden tractors. Adding a disconnect switch between the ground cable on the battery and the frame ground post. I have several lawn and garden tractors and have installed one on each one. It lessens the chance of a fire due to rodents chewing on the wires and also battery drain do to an unknown parisitic draw. The Harbour Freight ones are perfect for small equipment but I dont know if they will handle a high current draw from a large piece of equipment. It sure gives me piece of mind knowing the electrical system is dead.

I put Blue Sea switches on all my RV's. I also put one on my sawmill. There out in the weather 24/7 and never had one fail.

Have one, but don't think it would handle the explorer that goes dead after 4 days. --- Looks like small equipment use only but still a good idea.

Does the key stay in the switch? Good idea though.

Yes the key is removable. I install the switch somewhere under the hood or seat close to the battery and the cap covers the opening when the key is out.

I have one on my Yanmar that I use for mowing. Its nice knowing a thief will have to figure it out first.
