Battery powered grease gun recommendations?

I've got the 20v Dewalt. Reviews on it were good and I have other 20v Dewalt tools. I consider it to be one of my more expensive tools (because a $10 grease gun can do the same job) but now that I've used it, It makes the job so much easier and I do a better job of keeping stuff greased.

I had a 12 volt Lincoln and after a couple years upgraded to a Milwaukee 18v. World of difference. The Lincoln comes in a nice plastic case that keeps things neat, but is a pain. The Milwaukee is always ready to go. Have a Lock-N-Lube.

Following a lot of reading, I just got the DeWalt. Put a lock and lube on it and am very happy with its performance.

Think the "Lock & Lube" is more important than the brand of grease gun unless you are looking for battery compatibility....

I got the 18v Dewalt a few months ago for ~$130 on Amazon (tool only). Much less than the 20v, but I already had a bunch of the 18v tools. At some point when I need to start replacing batteries I'll just get the Dewalt 20v adapter.

Looking to replace my generic one....it works and was real cheap, but ni-cd battery that doesn't hold charge long and often just stops pumping in middle of a tube acting like it's empty when not.....anyway....also looking at DeWalt and wondering how big a deal is difference between the much less expensive 18V one? 9,000psi vs 10,000psi - does that matter at all? What I have now is 6,000psi and does the occasional fitting that is difficult for a hand one. I use all Bosch stuff so battery/charger compatibility not a factor for me. 18V one says battery lasts for 16 tubes on a charge - way more than sufficient for me. So even longer battery charge life and 1,000psi more - worth spending 2x as much for some reason?

I treated myself to the 20v DeWalt a while back. Have gone back and forth with the loc-n-lube. Not sure I like it any better than the regular fitting plus I have a few I have to use an adapter to get on with it.

I had a discount coupon for TS. I also printed out a lower price online ad from Home Depot. They matched the ad price AND applied the coupon discount.

One tip I can offer is to load a new tube as soon as the pumping sound stops. The pump will collapse the grease tube and make it a real bugger to get out if you don't.

I went with the Dewalt gun, given I have several Dewalt 20V tools.

I used it this weekend, and it is great. Add the Lube-Loc connector and you are good to go.

I agree that there can be an issue with the plunger extending past the end of the tube.

You MUST take the entire metal canister off and fill it 'like a regular squeeze handle' gun. If you just take the end cap off and fill it from the back, and run it 'dry' the plunger pushes out of the cartridge and cannot be pulled back. Just unscrew the entire tube, remove the empty, and replace with the cartridge metal edge towards the 'gun side'. Screw in the cartridge and away you go.

Since I've been doing it 'correctly'.... I haven't had a problem.... funny how that works.

I too have Ryobi tools and batteries. I went with the Milwaukee, which is great, but I don't think brand mattered too much to me. The ease of use really does make a difference in how often I grease.

bought 20v Dewalt last Thanksgiving at TSC sale, for 175, a real loss leader and they only had six.
Sure does work nicely and no problems getting the grease flowing.
Almost makes greasing the FEL fun. And anyone who can work around greased mowers and not get greasy, boy my
hat is off to you. Just about all my "work" clothing has been made so by #2 Moly grease.

Years ago I tried an inexpensive compressor powered grease gun and it had constant problems getting
a prime. So this time I went with brand name.
