?? Battery ??

Well the inevitable is happening. My XR4040 needs a new battery; it's about 4 3/4 yrs old. Two questions for anyone who has replaced theirs - 1) As a matter of curiosity, what kind of battery
is it (?) AGM or sealed flooded. 2) Where did you buy it?

I spent an hour today between Advance Auto, Auto Zone and NAPA and still haven't made a purchase. I know it is Group 24 battery but dimensions are critical, considering where the thing lives, and not all Group 24's are exactly the same size.

Another gotcha is the location of the posts - every battery I looked at was configured the same relative to the posts - just opposite of the "Rocket" oem battery.

The hunt for the perfect battery goes on!

Just replaced mine several weeks ago. NAPA 7524 worked perfect.

Thanks everyone for your replies. I've done an exhaustive online and in-store search to end up with 2 that may work. The depth (width) on both is a touch wider(deeper) than the Rocket battery provided by LS. The battery box might be able accommodate either one, as they are both the same width.
However, with Bluesteel's affirmation of NAPA's #7524, that might be the way to go.

Finally changed the battery yesterday - went with the NAPA #7524 (F). It fits the box well but I had to shim the tie-down strap as the battery is a bit taller than the oem battery.
