No word on this guys. BCS now makes a small hydro mower (front PTO only) in Europe. So now there are 3 hydrostatic models. It would be a real game changer for me. Hope I don't have to wait forever.

Yes, so 770 model is 2 wheel tractor (front and rear mount) and hydrostatic. Pretty nice. Last I checked BCS America won't bring this into USA until late 2020 or maybe even 2021. I will keep nagging them...not sure it helps though. But, not that much longer of a wait. I am looking forward to testing it. This model will be much easier for us to sell (I think) compared to the 660 hydrostatic which is front mount only.

I guess I’m confused...is the ability to run PTO attachments on the front and back of this 770 enabled by the reversible handlebars, a feature on almost all the BCS tractors other than the 600 forward direction only mower series? The hydrostatic transmission reportedly provides smoother shifting, but there does not appear to be a second PTO. Here is a Italian youtube video with animations that show the hydrostatic transmissions function

Yes, front and rear mount. Think of 740 model with hydrostatic transmission.

Rickyd79, I think we may be talking past each other or perhaps I misunderstand. My point is the 770 HY appears from photos and videos to function exactly like my 853, i.e. it has an engine on one end and all powered attachments connect to a single PTO at the end opposite the engine. Handlebars reverse to allow push type powered attachments (mowers mostly) and drag type, (tillers, power harrow, rotary plow, etc) so the PTO changes from front to back depending on the position of the handlebars. You seem to indicate there is a second PTO at the end where the engine is located?

Yes there is some confusion on your part...the part you are confused on is probably (front and rear mount). That does not mean there are 2 PTO shafts. It simply means the tractor runs front and rear mount implements.

Sometimes thing happen quicker than expected, 770 (PS) Hydrostatic Model scheduled to arrive in USA within a month. Pretty cool. But since it costs (Retail $6,575) which is $1,500 more than 749, I don't expect we will sell too many of them. For the right application maybe...

The BCS 770 made the BCS website. I noticed it yesterday. I really wish they had a video up already of how the two speed hydro works. There seems to be 都tops on the hydro lever. I wonder what that痴 for. I would like to see it in action up close, and not in Russian like the many of the YouTube videos.

That looks like a very interesting tractor! It's hard to beat hydrostatic drive for performance, but I wonder about longevity and potential issues. I'm not sure how crazy I would be about having both the power safe clutch and a hydrostatic transmission to maintain although the clutch shows as a wet clutch design which should help considerably to prevent heat related issues. Really not much information available on these and not listed at Earth Tools yet. Not going to sell my old 735 just yet;)

Timber, please post pictures and your product review when you get your BCS 770 Hydro. Inquiring minds want to know!

I briefly operated a BCS 770 at Wes Stauffer Equipment in Ephrata PA last week. Very nice tractor. Shifting direction or speed up or down does not require the use of the clutch and shifter rods and is much faster than a 749 or 853, both of which I operate. Shifting from forward to reverse (and vise versa) was also faster but not as fast as I hoped. I was advised to shift through each gear slowly to reach neutral and then into the opposite direction. Each speed has an easily recognized detent but neutral is difficult to recognize. I am sure this would not be an issue with more experience behind the handlebars.
The tractor also has a low and high range that are shifted between in the traditional manner using the clutch lever and shifting rod. Low range is lower/slower than 1st gear on a 749 or 853. Not sure if high range is any different.
This machine is more money for sure but it is so much easier on carpal tunnel sensitive hands and is easier and faster to operate than previous models.

Thanks for the performance review. I’ve got arthritic joints. My 830 and 953 kills my clutch hand if operated for an extended time. It has me thinking about selling my 830 with big wheels/13 hp Honda and 853 with even bigger wheels/Lombardini diesel to buy one electric start 770 hydro as my forever tractor. I had previously contemplated doing this and getting a Grillo 110 as it has an easier clutch/safety switch lever combination than my current BCS tractors. The issue is all the fully paid-for BCS implements I own. Starting over with new Grillo drive implements would be tough on the budget.

The BCS implements should fit a Grillo with the right adapter. Some cost, but you could flog the BCS adapters to help defray the costs.
I do not THINK this is correct I think BCS PTO shaft turns right and Grillo turns left. I had to wait for my Zanon mower deck to come in . They had the same deck for a BCS but could not just change the shaft to a Grillo splined shaft

I stand corrected. I guess I was thinking the 1967 through 1982 partnership meant the PTO was similiar enough, but missed BCS redesigned later into a more durable, yet more expensive to repair system; BCS vs. Grillo comparison - Earth Tools.

My bad

Not a problem I saw online a while back someone made an adapter to run an old style gravely bushhog deck on a Grillo

That is true. My Grillo turns the opposite of my BCS. The only thing they can share (that I have) is the sickle bar mower.
