Belarus...New Sub-Compact Model

/ Belarus...New Sub-Compact Model #2
OK I think we have the winner for the "ugliest" new tractor model on the planet!

But it sure has some interesting features like the articulated body. I wonder why the seller does not really stress that feature?

As is typical of the old Russian designs, this tractor follows the lack of ergonomic legacy. Lift the hood to pull start the engine! Yikes.

Ummm, isn't this the electric starter?

Otherwise, yea, IMO not very practical.

Apparently it is so ugly, the guy on it in the picture doesn't even want to be recognized. His face is either blurred out or he has some real facial issues! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Dummy, it may be an electric starter, but what I noticed is the pull cord starter on the face of the motor. In either case, you apparently have to open the hood and stand in front of the tractor to start it??? I would hope it has a safety feature that prevents it from starting if the tractor is not in gear. You could actually run your foot over (or worse) starting the tractor if it was in gear when you started it.

That's so ugly I think I like it! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I wouldn't want to ship it all the way from Minsk, though. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I think I saw a key switch on the dash on like the 3rd picture down. Pull start is probalby just a backup incase battery goes dead.

Jon, there is also apparently a key next to the pull starter? Or at least it looks that way in the picture. Multiple keys? Backup starters? I don't know, but I really wonder what the little thing is capable of. Combine that Honda engine with the articulated body and 4 wheel drive and that thing probably has some guts to it.

I bet Kubota and all the other manufacturers of sub-compacts are taking a very close look at this new offering from Belarus. The pull start feature will surely start showing up on new BX's and the others very soon....

Quite a pinching hazard there.

$1500 just to ship? /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif That's what it should cost! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Hmmm, I wonder where you get parts?

Bob, I tend to like my equipment to be prevented from starting if it is in gear! /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Unfortunately, I'll bet this one is setup both ways! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Do you think the lawyers are importing it? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I think it would probably be a great little tractor. Off the self Honda OHV 13hp engine powering the whole thing might be a little underpowered.
