Belarus Tractors

The rear casting on my 925 is made from butter.
It broke one of the 3 point liftshaft ears right off the bottom of the rearend
I relocated the lift arms to the alternate stubsshafts and a short time later the 4 bolts holding the pin flanges to the side came loose and stripped the treads out of the casting.
I drilled the bolt holes up a size and tapped 3/4" UNC tread and glued grade 8 studs in.
Next day i put it together and when tightened the nuts i pulled like a knife trough butter 3 of the studs right out tread and all.
The other ones seem to be holding..for now..knock wood.

How about some warranty on that lousy casting MTZ ????

According to Tractordata that tractor was sold in US from 1991 to 1996 so good luck on warranty for your problem with it.

I know the warranty is expired. but this was a tractor that came factory with a poor casting cause i never heard of metal rotting like red rot in wood.
I think they should still owe up.

All Belarus made MTZ Tractors sold by us (MTZ Equipment Ltd. | Official distributor of Minsk Tractor Works of Belarus in USA/Canada) are covered by a comprehensive 2 years warranty.
When and where did you purchase your tractor ? What year is the tractor ?
If it is not our tractor, we can still support it with spare parts.
Yours,
Arie
I bought this 93- 925 tractor in 2012 ,...as is were is.
It had only 800 hrs on it when i purchased it.
The PO prob knew the casting was broke but he never told me that, he said he never used the 3 point and had taken the lift arms off cause he found them a nuisance with hitching up to the draw bar.( i guess i got suckered)
I do use the 3 point and when i went to instal it at home i found out that the shaft support had broke out.

I also have a 78 -800 with identical rear end as the 925
It never had a problem with bolts stripping out or pieces breaking off and i used that 3 point daily for 5 years carrying a double bale spear with 2 round bales on it.

I have an 825 and so far so good no issues with the 3 point castings pivot points and my 3pt hitch has been used lots. Sounds like that one was faulty or made on a friday. Wow only had 800 hrs. on it and its 20 years old ??? Is that the correct hrs do you think? What did it cost you if you don't mind sharing?

Good question. It does not look like it has been tampered with though.
Tractor is in really good shape, hardly any visable wear on the original Russian tires.
I paid 4 grand.

Good grief I just paid 4K for my new snow blade for the 825 a couple months ago!!! If its in good shape like you say you basically paid for the tires and got the tractor for nothing. Please don't tell me you got a 925 plus a loader for $4000 as that would be a new record buy for a Belarus I think. Obviously the former owner didn't know what he had or he knew about the 3pt hitch issue and wanted to gone bad. Man I never find deals like that, I have seen them cheaper but they've been beat to ****. Well at 4K investment you got nothing to lose if the rest is ok.

You got a dealer up there selling the newer MTZ ones too now I see.

The running joke around here was that an old Russian tractor and an old Russian woman would both be hard workers. But the tractor didn't have a mustache. There was a dealer here (He has since died) that took a Belarus engine and used it in his Dodge delivery truck. He said it had all the power he needed and good mileage. He used an oil cooler to get heat in the cab. If you have a Belarus with a good engine, but the rest of the tractor is shot, that might be donor for a truck project.

Yep, just 4 grand but it had no loader on it.(dealer estimate was 15 grand);)
I put that on my self,i got the loader for free from a neighbor. I just had to build the brackets and put new pins and bushings in the loader arms.
and fixed up the rams. I painted it to match the tractor for good measure.(maybe out of pocket $500)
I build the 2 bale fork in the 3 point as well.
