I am just about ready to put down some hard earned cash on a 2710 and was ready to order it with the 60" mower. That was when I read M. Sullivans post under B2910 pricing. He mentions that there are significant differences in the mower, that the 72 is easier to remove than the 60 etc.
Other than the obvious additional 12" does anyone have experience with either or a proven recommendation for one or the other.
Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Dale

You bet. I bought my 2710 last year with the 72" deck and love it. The 2710 has plenty of power to handle it, the extra foot reduces cutting time and the cost difference is not significant. I mower about 3 acres and have had no problems.

Will sit down with the manual and briefly list the things that cought my eye, by the end of the weekend.
Small price difference is also correct.

Go with the 72" deck,it is the same design as the older B-Series "1550-2150".The decks are heavier built and do a super job of mowing.Easy off and on,and that extra 12" makes a BIG differance when covering a lot of ground.

O.K., here we go (hopefully before the kids get up!):

72" has height adjust at four corners--easy access to each. 60" requires 4 sepreate adjusts; incl. anti scalp--MUCH more involved (have to drop deck or crawl under tractor).

60" requires removal of bolts to adjust height on 1 or more of the anti-scalp wheels. 72" is all pins.
Note: removal/install requires setting to lowest height--so every time on/off you go through this drill (significant if you have a loader).

60" install requires wheeling it under from the side. APPEARS you have to 'force/push' the non-pivoting scalp wheels along the ground (at 300#+ total weight not a lot of fun I'd guess). 72" book says drive over it (don't plan to try), but rolling under from side is a snap--all 4 wheels pivot.

60" has 4 different types of wheels/rollers to adjust/remember for height adjust. 72" just 4 identical wheels.

Grease fittings on each adjuster--again, climb under or remove deck to grease the 60". 72" are walk-up accessible.

Looks like that is about it, other than the obvious 12" additional width.

Didn't physically look at overall construction of the 60", but appears to be alot of parts to assemble (they come pre-assembled, though). The 72" is all welded. This applies to the deck, not the mounting/hanging system which are bolt on on both.

For ease of use/mounting/maintenance no comparison imo. Good luck--I'm, sure they are both equivalent functionally.
