Best battery ever!!

I bought a brand new L3130 in 2001. correction.....purchased it 5-28-03. I don’t use it a lot...tractor only has 620 hours on it. Last night I went to plow and it was the first time ever it failed to start. I can’t believe the battery lasted 18 years. Correction.....15 years 7 months 9 days......to be exact

18 years is remarkable for a Kubota battery. The longest I've ever had one last is 12 years. Replacement batteries have been a big disappointment. Even using Kubota batteries, the best I've done so far is 8 years.

This seems to be the case with any vehicle battery. Replacements, even OEM batteries never last as long as the original.

My Kubota battery lasted 6 years. 18 is amazing. Do you keep a battery tender on it since you don't use it a lot?

If it were me, it would be that I had actually replaced the battery 9 years ago, and had forgotten that I did so.

You keep it inside though, right? The cold and infrequent use would kill it otherwise. Still 18 years is darn good.

Thought the 3130 didn't come out till 2003. (2003-2007).
Still very good battery life.
My original battery lasted 11 years.

18 years is a long time. I it were me I would question myself, wondering if I changed the battery sometime in the past and forgot!

Actually, I am serious...

Edit: I think I got about 15 years on the battery in my BX2200...Don't remember ever changing it...I changed the battery in my B2910 one time in about 16 years.

My 2005 B7800 still has the original battery, only has 568 hours on it.
Tractor is parked in an unheated garage, when temps are below 20 degrees I use the block heater about 1/2 hour before starts.
I've never put a battery tender on it.

i replace my battery on my bx 1830 2005 705 hr on it and the battery was still starting the tractor but did not trust it so put a new one kubota battery

The tractor has lived in various equipment sheds and barns. No heat but kept out of the elements.

My BX23 still has the OEM battery... amazing and I think Deka is the manufacturer and Lowes sells them here...

I believe you’re correct. Now you have be racking my brain. It was a new model. I remember the dealers all saying how the Grand L series is all new. So now I’m try to find the purchase receipt.

When I was shopping tractors and purchased in 2001, I looked at the Kubota 3010 and 3410.
I'm almost sure the 30 series were not out yet.

So I finally found my receipt of purchase.....I was wrong. I did not purchase it in 2001 as I thought. I purchased it 5-28-2003. So thanks for the replies that directed me to my error. Still darn good for the battery to last so long. Now to decide what I should replace it with. Batteries have gotten expensive!

You guys have me feeling inferior. I get excited when mine goes past 5 years! First one died at 3. And you're sure right about the cost - batteries have gotten very expensive!

My 2006 L3400 is still purring. It's in my unheated pole barn. Next month will be 13 years with me..

The 2007 L5240 is doing the same. I thought I lost it last weekend, but it ended up being the positive terminal. It had cracked on the back of the terminal strap.

I will admit that I've been using a harbor freight float charger intermittently on the two of them since 2016. Both machines have quick connects. I usually do this if they are going to sit more than a week at a time without use, like during hunting season.

Pretty much all of them are made in china, but they aren't all of the same quality...

I buy "Battery Tender" brand, and they have been very good lasting a long time.

BTW, the new Deka batt I put in my tractor this last summer, it had to be replaced a couple weeks ago. At least it was under warr., we will see how long this one last.
